Hey, can anyone pls confirm. I heard from a source that Set of Bovada's offices in the Philippines and United States have been raided today. Got investments in that company.

11/21 Update from CalvinAyre.com

Well CalvinAyre.com just reported that Philippines offices raided, so I guess that part is true. I doubt Bodog has offices in the US though.

Bodog is the network, Bovada is the client servicing USA

Not sure there's a need for such panic quite yet
11-21-2013 , 11:35 AM
It's Bodog Asia, not Bovada according to the article.

Also, the article says its local police...that's a far cry from a concerted governmental seizure.

Anybody tried cashing out? Has everything been frozen?

Spread what word? Afaik, no one really knows what's happened or how big of a deal it is yet.
11-21-2013 , 11:51 AM
if this were a big deal, then Calvin Ayre himself wouldn't be the one issuing the "press release" of sorts. He'd say nothing until he had to...and not be the one breaking the story.

The new poster seems to be giving a false report. A disgruntled player or disgruntled employee is plausible here.

This is a story only about embezzlement in a Bodog local office in the Phillipines. The news story doesn't mention the US at all and doesn't mention the Bovada company which has a different owner and is located in a different country. Neither company is known to have any offices in the US.

All seem extremely suspicious to me, all 3 Nov 2013 creation of accounts, 2/3 Gamester's total posts in this thread, 3/3 Hardhitter's total posts in this thread and Hardhunter555's only post in this thread.

Two of them mention investing in the company(do they mean depositing?), it seems a weird way to phrase it.

All 3 trying to convince people this is a HUGE deal, without any real evidence that this is anything at all that Bodog was even worried about, I mean FFS they are the ones that were the first to report it.

Not this at all. They're one of the best in the business at paying out and have been for many years. Stop your fear mongering and rumor creation.

From the linked article:
"The timing is no coincidence as three more charges were laid today against Gustafsson, Sherwin Quiambao, Arleen Aldaba and Patrik Selin."

Hmm, I wonder who these new posters could be ...

wow what a troll thread by OP

Well none of those posters share IP address at least.

However JohnFR raises a pretty good point.

While there is always a risk in playing from the US, given what we currently know I don't think a bank run is necessarily warranted. If you have a ton of cash on there removing the bulk would certainly be prudent, but I think that's true of any site at this point.
