Could people please stop throwing around these %-estimations that have no basis at all? This is getting ridiculous.

I think when you read this again you will realise how stupid it was.

Pretty good thing Boosted didn't get action on that "no prop betting in 2011" bet.

Are you still going on about this?

Top 5% of WHO FFS? "Young people who run and have other sport activities"? Kind of a pointless restriction. You are arguing in circles.

I doubt 5% of the population of Sweden EVER runs. Period. I just looked it up, and the average age of the country is 41. Do you see a bunch of 50 and 60 year olds on the treadmill or on the track every day?

perfect

WAtr you are incredibly dumb

re: calories, average for 20min mile @ 160lbs would be about 70kcal/mile so decent estimate would be 5k kcals

i guess hardcore wrestling training would be much higher intensity so yeh it's quite likely he would have burned more doing that, certainly infinitely more per hour

I know you put wrestlers in this weird, capable of doing what no human could ever do category, but LOL... WTF? He burned probably close to 8000 calories... snap call this bet.

I estimated Ashton's body type just from a photo. I don't think this matters much for this comparison though.

Now, earlier I mentioned the wrestling camp I attended for several years. It was 2 weeks long, 6am-9pm every day, breaking only for meals. Here is what our daily routine looked like:

However, on the last day, we were not allowed to sleep the night before. Instead we were taken down to the football field in the middle of the night, and did sprints, crab walks, wheelbarrows, and tons of other exercises up and down the football field and up and down the stadium bleachers until the sun came up. Once it did, we immediately went for a 15 mile run. None of us slept for 41 hours, and broke for meals only. The final 24 hours looked something like this:

The kicker to all of this, is that this was a High School level wrestling camp and at the college level, training is notoriously much more intense.

there's a 38% chance 49% of viewers in this thread wont even read your comment, and that they can run 400miles an hour

I've done two marathons, and while there definitely is a mental component to it, claiming it's 90% is silly.

I don't care how determined you are, you'll want to do some training before trying to run 26.2 miles.

Anyway, props to Ashman, good job.

He bet this much money against his roommate? Dogishead might not be able to cover his part of the rent next month.

having done a caloric intake tracking during heaviest training at an elite sport level and averaged over this per day and lost weight I'd say it's possible.

Fwiw this is also a very easy bet to cheat. I run quite a bit on treadmills at the gym and there is one at my gym that is not level. The two leveling boards in the front are not there so it tilts slightly forward. This gives a HUGE advantage. When I've run on the treadmill that tilts slightly forward I have no problem running 5 miles in 34 mins and hardly feel winded at all. If I'm running on level treadmills it takes me at least 37.5 mins to run five miles and am usually very gassed.

I try to avoid the treadmill that's not level but sometimes the gym is so packed there's no choice. I always feel like I'm cheating my workout when I run on that thing.

I can't be the first one to think this is totally gross can I if this is just training for highschool level wrestling.

This can only be in cloud cuckoo land highschool wrestling. 2.5 hours running at 11mph. That means running 27.5 miles in under 2 and a half hours. Ha. Basically over a marathon in 2:20hour marathon pace. Only elite marathon runners can do that. Doing that in the same day as 5 hours of jogging, plus 6 hours intense wrestling practice, plus 5 hours of aerobics and some weightlifting. Total 20 hours of workout in the day. Hahaha. At the end of 2 weeks of similarly intensive training. With no sleep. Some 17 year old highschool kids. Riight.

It was like 45 minutes of wind sprints 3 or 4 times over the course of a day.

Also duh, over 13 hours a day of training, everyday? Really? Not even most world class athletes do that much training. Also if you were in high school and trianing for over 13 hours a day how could you go to class and do work? Seems a little bit unrealistic to me, however im not exercise expert.

Easy IMO. David Goggins does 114 in 24.
