Any good poker documentaries? - Page 6 - Poker News

I am about 1/2 way through the Nosebleed Documentary and it has been very entertaining so far. I don't know if it will show these two players helping someone in need or not, but if you are a high stakes "baller," instead of spending thousands of dollars on bottles of alcohol, please help others who are less fortunate.

There is a special edition of the film "Rounders" that has a commentary feature with Hellmuth, Chan, Moneymaker, and Chris Ferguson where they talk throughout the movie with some poker history and pointers it is awesome. Not quite a documentary but it is pretty in depth and entertaining imo.

Documentary about New-York (illegal) underground poker. The filming is good. People talk quite a lot into it. 5-10 stakes. Issued on National Geographic Channel.

You know, when I watched that 13 years ago I thought it was stupid. But after 13 years of being a full time player, I totally understand how a call can be the right play there, considering he had his whole roll on the table. I've also played a lot of Omaha, as well as 5 and 6 card PLO, and in those games a hand like that is often just a call, so that could be part of why I think that way.

i thought it was good, but it lacks structure and pacing, there's no story being told, not even a general theme or narrative - which really feels like a missed opportunity because they were literally filming poker players as they experienced black friday

Not a poker documentary, but Inside the Edge is an entertaining movie about professional blackjack.

The embedded video doesn't seem to be playing for some reason, but if you search for Inside the Edge on YouTube the full movie is there for free.

Yeah I hesitated to call it a documentary, because parts seem pretty suspect. It's still entertaining though.

Not sure how far in you got, but there are scenes with him wearing disguises to sneak in and play blackjack. He gets aggressively backed off by security multiple times. It might be staged, but it looks like it could be real and it's pretty dramatic.
