New Elezra Book Thread New Elezra Book Thread

01-23-2019 , 05:17 AM
Hi Everyone:

Eli has informed us that he won't answer any more questions and has asked to take the "Ask Me Anything" thread down. We have done so.

If any of you want to comment on his book Pulling the Trigger, you can so here and also feel free to make any other comments that are withing our posting guidelines.

Best wishes,
Mason

Did he give you his side of the story regarding his debt?
01-23-2019 , 05:23 AM
Probably a bad read to put up another thread wrt his book. Nobody cares.
01-23-2019 , 05:24 AM
If i still buy the book would you ban Bumpnrun?
01-23-2019 , 05:27 AM
Laughable. Creating a new thread won't change anything. The vast majority of comments in the last thread met 2p2's "posting guidelines. This just makes 2p2 look bad. How did Eli not expect his "Ask Me ANYTHING" to include questions about his questionable past is beyond me.

Marketing fail.

Hi isolated:

I don't think it would have been appropriate to take the other thread down with no explanation. And if you're right that no one cares, then no one will post.

Best wishes,
Mason

That seems wrong. The info in that thread from Cole South and others deserved to be available to the World.

Also, Eli asking for the thread to be deleted is the biggest admission of guilt I've ever seen.
01-23-2019 , 05:29 AM
He could have responded to all the questions, but decided to hide and suppress.
01-23-2019 , 05:30 AM
Well this is going to go down well, isn't it?

Have you gone crazy Mason?

Hi Andro:

We felt that since it was Eli's thread he had the right to have it deleted. However, anyone is free to say what they want about the book or 2+2 Publishing, on this thread or any other thread that you may want to start as long as it meets our posting guidelines.

Best wishes,
Mason

I think it’s ok to have a new thread and close the other one, however I wish Eli could of come clean and at least been honest to us, when he was trying to promote his life story

It would be nice if he would at least still say something.

I guess it is what it is...

I hate the way Eli has hidden away as soon as things got tough. Two plus two and Mason are getting the blame but Eli started the thread and should be man enough to answer cole souths claims in full. end of story.

I don't think its appropriate to take the thread down at all.

Can anyone now accused of similar dealings have the thread removed?

CLIFFS:

- CTS claims he lent 100k to Eli and was paid back 60k, leaving a debt of 40k. This was nine years ago
- At least two statements of Eli's argued as fact (he never plays without 100% of his action, he always pays his debts) directly challenged/proven by CTS (if you believe he didn't arbitrarily create a fake screenshot to damage Eli's name.
- Eli initially addressed the concerns, but since then has avoided the thread and then had it deleted at his request.

Pretty sure it's 2p2 policy to delete threads if the person asking for deletion is the OP of that thread and Eli was.

Everyone will post. Just not about the book.

I wasn't aware of that, thanks.

I think the issue with the book now is that it's gonna be dishonest right
And inevitably will miss important parts of the story like being not paying back in debt etc.
Honestly books where the hero is down are a good read, admitting to struggle to pay debts included would make it even better

Now it's gonna be hard to pick it up because you just have to wonder if he's bull****ting or holding back. Shame really all he had to do is admit he's human in the AMA or at least not try to show virtues he doesn't have.

As far as I can tell there's nothing dishonest in the book.

You're right here. There's no discussion of this topic in the book.

There are many places in the book where Eli talks about his struggles at the poker table. One of the chapters is titled "The Day I Lost $1 Million" and there are a number of other places where there is discussion of significant losses and how it affected Eli's bankroll.

I agree.

Mason,

I have lot of respect for you and what you and 2+2 have done for poker.

But was shocked and could not believe you deleted the AMA thread.

Locking it with explanation I could understand as it would (like many threads) degrade into a cesspool of gibberish and trolling, especially since Eli said he would no longer respond.

But just deleting it is blatant self serving of your own financial interests and goes against everything that makes public forums like 2+2 great. (Not to mention YOU were the one that started the thread)

Can I do things here that blatantly serve my financial interests?

I would respect your answer if it is "its my sandbox, I will do whatever the hell I want", cause that would come across as authentic.

Other answers / justification for deleting thread is likely going to lead to more questions.

note: I realize this is sort of NVG Mod discussion post, but hope you'll agree this is a bit different.

Is the book a biography or biographical fiction?
01-23-2019 , 07:55 AM
He started a thread to promote his book. It sure backfired; probably some people will still buy it and read it, but it surely has had the opposite effect for many others here....

As for me, I wondered if what I read previously about his shady dealings and unpaid debts were true, including the story about his photo business; the deleted thread sure adds credence to the allegations.

So now, in my mind, he is another member of that cast of characters which would include Eric Lindgren, Brad Booth, Chino Rheem, and others who have been dishonored by unpaid debts. Poker and gambling reveals character, eh?

Well, I ordered the book and am currently waiting for the Amazon droid to deliver.

Lots of people owe money. Donald Trump skipped out on a ton of debt and was elected president.

Don't loan anyone money, then people won't have to come onto sites like this and cry about not being paid back. Easy game.

I have no problem telling people in the poker room, family members, friends, co-workers a big fat NO when they ask to borrow.

No one asks me anymore.
