I think it's a good idea. Suspense, a chance to promote the hell out of the event/players, and, most importantly, a live final table. The Main Event final table live broadcast has reportedly been canceled for 2008, so the only way we're getting to see it live is if they do this. If you haven't watched the FT live before, it's a great experience, even without hole cards. On the other hand, I don't know that I want to watch 16 hours of the end of a poker tournament again. I think there's potentially a good idea here, though ESPN hasn't historically had what it takes to pull it off.

Stop "The Nuts" segments...and the rest of that filler garbage. Stop all the stupid backstories about people. I know...I know...he was born with a sloth hanging out the back of his head...and he's made it his dream to play in the main event...yadda. Stop It.
ESPN needs to concentrate on trying to get at least three hands into each segment and evolve from there.
QFT, though we reach different conclusions.
I don't mind limited bio stuff, but that's not at all what ESPN does.

I don't see anything about it being rejected there.
I'm skeptical of this whole rumor thing though. I haven't heard anything about this since Ty Steward talked about it in October. Now some blog starts talking about it without citing sources? Could be true, but they're the only one I've seen mention it since October.
