Interesting interview with Sorel Hope he can stay clean . . .
The other side of the conversation where he was talking about Everything from the Universe to quantum mechanics, and what are we as a level 0 species going to do to survive when the Sun explodes was Really Interesting to Me as these are things I find myself thinking about everyday also, as always much love Pappi . . .
-Side note Have Ben86 and Sauce come on for a 3 way so we can nominate You for best Podcast of All Time (not just Poker) . . .

Podcast grind continues papis
Tonight having on Noah Schwartz at 6pm EST
Thursday having back on Doug Polk to catch up on WSOP happenings, winning a bracelet, playing more PLO, Upswing, live streaming, tourney players and more (I think 4-6pm EST)
Will be having on Phil Galfond sometime in Mid-August
Looks like Bill Perkins is going to come on the pod, have to talk with him to set a date for that.
Should be having on Charlie Carrel sometime soon (probably next week)

Even just getting affiliate links on a website and giving the audience a 10 second shout out to go there and check them out should bring in some $. It just seems like if you love creative content, you want the creator get to get value out of it -- you want that selfishly because you want it to keep going. For other platforms:
For your type of content Twitch would be the second best right now - their CPMs are awful though - gotta pump that Cheers money (which should be releasing soon)
Facebook Video - Their monetization platform is in Beta right now with select partners. The partners I know say the CPM's are AWFULLLLL. But still you should syndicate your YT vids on FB in the FB player. Do not embed the YT video.
Amazon Video Direct - You can now monetize here as well but there are not a lot of viewers here. Cool integrations if you are doing merch though.
SnapChat - Don't worry about monetizing here for now. This will change though.

I had many mixed feelings as well. It seems like in many ways he wants to do good and make a positive impact on peoples lives but really has no idea how to do it on the grand scale he thinks he should be doing it. I don't think the idea of starting small and grinding up to something bigger is very exciting to him but that is probably the most realistic way of being able to put himself in a position for that to happen. He did come off nice and likable to me as well. It is pretty hard to ignore all of the allegations and incidents that have taken place with him over the years but I'm not really sure how that impacts the way that I personally view him.
I didn't fully understand/comprehend some of the things he was getting into because I really don't ever think about them but I'm sure there is a large subsection of the population who do. Those people are probably not the people watching my podcasts or in the poker world. I did find some of the things discussed pretty interesting but I'm just not passionate enough about them to really have a viewpoint on them one way or the other.
My biggest desire for wanting to have Sorel on was to find out just what type of person can be involved in so many scandals over the years but still have a pretty good standing in the poker world for the most part. What I suspected going in was very much confirmed after talking with him. I do wish him well and hope he can turn some type of corner that we spoke of.
