Nevermind then! lol

Antonio Esfandari, Shaun Deeb, Gobbo, Gavin Griffin, Gaelle Baumann, Dan Heimiller, Maria Ho, Greg Raymer would be my Elite Eight.

Edit: Add 2p2er short stack Assani Fisher to make it a November Nine?

I'm aware of the troubling character issues surrounding her, but no matter how hard I try I can't help finding her sneaky-cute and find myself rooting for her to make final table despite all my best judgment.

Sort of how I feel about Amanda Knox.

People really still VPN in this day and age? Why take the risk? Where do they get their check sent to when they withdraw?

What character issues? Was she a Lock pro (can't remember)? I always found her pretty likable.

To the foreigner they had open their account up for them. Player transfers and cash in Vegas.

Haven't looked at every table draw but have to think this table is leading candidate for feature table when ESPN coverage begins:

Ryan Riess - former ME winner
Shaun Deeb - 12th in chips
Will Failla
Perry Friedman - old school bracelet winner in 2002

Maria Ho and David Tuchman at same table and possibility too I guess.

You realize she wears a wig? Have no idea why. Female pattern baldness at her age is rare

Not likely. They tried it a few years ago, 2012 maybe?, and ESPN decided that it impacted badly on the viewing figures for the main broadcasts a few months later.

Televised poker suffers from a gross lack of sophistication. Wonder if there could be actual poker tables built that actually know everyone's stack size, and be able to display it, and constantly as the tourney evolves, mid bet etc.

This would also be good in a situation where say before a break, and all the players split there is a constant monitoring of the ending stack size (exactly) pre breaks, and the stack size 1st hand after break. They should obv equal out. So its useful even in more ways then just making the game more understandable and fluid real time. Security wise also so kinda surprising they still function poker sorta in the Neanderthal age.

A better way of projecting it ALL basically to the audience. As is it lacks emotion anything really. Maybe doing it LIVE somehow and from the floor could be done better. Although lol doubt ESPN budgets for that with poker..

Maybe starting with new poker tables, sophisticated ones would be a good place to start. Also would make it easy to literally cover a lot of tables and a bunch of different people (good for their brand and yours), instead of one sometimes hand selected crew of people. That gets boring fast to the casual observer id imagine. If you could float the room and catch more of the drama, and real time now you might have something. All stack sizes being somehow displayed would be huge to go with that.

as is, just gonna keep dying

and noticeably no fresh celebrities this year (aside from the washed up actor degens garret and roman etc) no new blood in the MAIN anymore why is that...

Rappers, athletes, gangsta, cool people surely love the gamble, why is it less are entering the so called MAIN Event. Personally I think its because theirs so much dirty, energy around poker most wouldn't want to bother associating their name to it. Sorry to hurt your feelings, but its true.

lotta ballin outta control peoples would love to play a 10k WSOP big field too, but why is it they dont. My read is you so called, 'PROs' have run the game down and bled it dry. Also why Guy woke up and banned you all from soft playing in his CHARITY One Drop.....

lol at you all bit off that nose in spite of your own face, morons!

Rooting on Antonio, Chan, and Brandon Adams. Can't stand Bleznick. I kinda hope Chan makes it to the final table, it would be awesome. Despite the fact they are down to 800, there is so much more poker to play. Anything can happen.

Wish ESPN was broadcasting these every week starting the week after the tournament started.

Landscape has changed since 2012. Plus ESPN broadcast rights are expiring

I admit it, I'm a fan of Jason Somerville. He's sitting with an average chip stack, so it's time now to RUN IT UP!

I, too, would love to see a couple of well-known pros final table (this means you, Maria and Fossilman), and am rooting for Gobbo to have a big score.

Simon dead man managed to 20X his stack yesterday so he's obviously running well.

Plenty of big name pros involved still and loads of action to sweat.

You are basing this on the poor live reporting. It strikes me that they don't know who the non poker celebs are, apart from the usual faces like Romano and Shane Warne. At least they reported a hand from John Arne Riise, but they should be doing a featue on these guys.
Was Gerard Pique there? He might've been, but it wasn't reported.

Celebs just don't want any publicity that associates them with gambling.

Four former main event champions remain: Johnny Chan, Greg Raymer, Ryan Riess, and Tom McEvoy
I noticed one other "interesting" player still in: Billy Kopp, currently shown at #398 with 330,000k chips.

Who could ever forget his epic meltdown against Darvin Moon in 2009 when he was virtually guaranteed a seat at the final table before his blow-up.
