I have the feeling this one's going to be super-fast. I'm almost afraid to leave for lunch for fear I might miss the whole thing.

How could someone be that bad in a 1k buy in? Are these live mtts really that soft? He should of never gotten down to 3bbs in the first place wtf.

With 7K entries, this years Main Event will pay a little over $8M to first, or roughly 1/8th of prize pool. The 10K Deuce with 109 entries pays $322K to first, or about 1/3 of entire prize pool.

If the Main Event paid out same percentages as the 10K Deuce, first would get over $20M, 2nd would get over $12M. That extra would come out of everyone else, dropping payouts after 3rd place dramatically.

If the Deuce paid same percentages as the Main Event, first would get $140K, and since it only pays 12 people the rest of the payouts would have to average over $80K, making only a minor differences possible between 2nd through 9th places.

1k buyins you get all kinds of players, it's pretty standard. Especially @ WSOP.

that and you probably should fold 22 there with essentially zero fold equity unless you're sure you can get it HU or the table is aggressive enough you feel you might jump the pay ladder.

Colossus probably should've been a million. People are playing the 500 for the big prize shot, they don't care about getting their $ back.

I hope mixed events will be broadcasted with commentary. I remember when Ivey and Scotty made like 3 of them and they featured them because of that

Dealer deals first hand of my first ever WSOP Omaha8 tournament. UTG goes "Dealer, WTF! You gave me 4 cards!".

Chainsaw leads table in explaining to gentleman what Omaha High Low 8 or better is, how high/low works, you can only use 2 cards, etc. Guy just saw WSOP Tournament, $1,500 and decided he always wanted to play one of those "TV tournaments".

UTG then proceeds to put a series of amazing bad beats on Chainsaw before finally busting.

A pay-out structure does not have a fixed amount of % of the field being paid, but a formula for each possible amount of entrants, and % paid per place, according to that. It's perfectly possible to use the same pay-out structure for all events.

This doesn't seem correct.

WSOP is really struggling with the updates. They should have paid Pokernews what they asked.

Well if the reason is simply money, no doubt WSOP should have paid pokernews what they asked for.....

Why can't WSOP have a real mobile app and stream it through and/or run it through Twitch so we can subscribe and get notified when it comes up ? I just want a notification....
