I was playing 5/10 NL cash last night at the WSOP when two players flopped the nut flush. Yup, on showdown, they both are holding the Ace of Spades in their hands. When the floorman was called over to make a ruling, we asked him how often this has happened during the series. He said he alone has seen it five or six times.

If the TD that made the 1st ruling in Deeb's huge $50K hand had been called to this table, he obviously would have awarded the pot to the #9 seat because he has an A-K flush which is clearly better than an A-Q flush.

How did they get to the river?

Would have been sick if guy in seat 2 had 67ss and rivered a str8 flush.

I like how the guy in seat 2 still has cards. Maybe he had KQ of spades?

Obv the AQ had wins, they have a flush + a pair.

What was the ruling? Chop pot, and a new deck I presume.

Time to quit this game, and find one that isn't shady.

Was there an automatic shuffler? That counts how many cards are in deck.

That's really ****ed up.

I would think the presence of 2 Ace of Spades would suggest one of them sneaked an Ace into their hand somehow (up the sleeve, etc.)? Or is that no longer possible with modern casino security?

In my home games when identical cards are inevitably turned up at showdown we add that card to the board. Guy on top wins with K hi flush.

WTF
" When the floorman was called over to make a ruling, we asked him how often this has happened during the series. He said he alone has seen it five or six times."

What is going on? Someone bringing an ace with them

That is f'ed up considering I've been in this game everyday the past week... I recall a hand where a guy flopped a fullhouse 79 with 779 then turn 9 river 7 and we were all like WTF.... now who knows how many 7's and 9's were in that deck!!!

It would be nice if you told us his ruling. I would think it would be a misdeal and obviously being the Rio they keep the rake.

Were the cards just changed out before this hand, I don't see how the deck could have been in play for long without anybody noticing the 2 AOS.

There are have been many instances of extra/duplicate cards in the middle/high limit games. Extra aces, low cards in mix pot games, etc.

The cards are of terrible quality and constantly bent and marked; the WSOP is too effing cheap to use card shufflers so you got to depend in other players or competent dealers.

Most of the floor do not understand the games being played and cannot make a ruling worth a crap. If it wasnt for the action, I would never attend another WSOP again.

I actually had only been at the table for about 15 minutes before this hand came up, so I can't say if there had been any suspicious play beforehand.

The floor ruled a misdeal, and reconstructred the hand and returned all money to the players in the pot.

At the completion of the money being returned, two new setups were brought in to replace the decks at the table. The dealer then began counting down the decks to make sure they had 52 cards, until someone reminded him he may want to actually spread the deck FACE UP first to make sure all the cards are there with no duplicates. Yes, even after that incident the dealer was counting down the cards face down without spreading them first. Good stuff at the WSOP.

It is true cards are being marked all the time, and the angleshoots are out of control as well. Last night saw a guy with headphones facing a huge announced all-in($2K+ on top of the pot, all-in player pushing one stack of red forward) push one stack forward himself. All-in player turns over the nuts, guy with headphones says "nice hand" and dealer said "he has you covered", to which guy with headphones said "I just called the $100".

Funny thing is, all-in announcement was very loud as was dealer repeating the all-in, guy who called pushing 1-stack forward has also used this trick the day before too. Both times floor was called and ruled since he didn't hear due to headphones he was only liable for the $100 not the announced $2K+ all-in...

lol....
