Let me start out by saying that when I play online tournaments, I don't run for a smoke unless a break is on, so I'm never 'out of the action' for more than a minute or two (if it's a fast break or I get distracted doing something else after my smoke).

So, it was a bit of a surprise to me when I started digging in to my online stats and I realized that over the past few years I've folded AA & KK preflop, 26 times combined!! I knew I must have done this a few times in the past, but 26?!

Over a lifetime, that's a pretty damn big leak if you ask me.

So my options are to smoke in the house, power smoke, or quit altogether.

i like smoking joints while sitting at my computer. I only miss AA and KK if i fall asleep.

I get why people drink, I get why people do cocaine...etc.

But I've never understood why people "smoke"...I've tried it, but like 0 benefit and TONS of downside (health, costs too much, bad breath, yellow teeth)

I couldn't agree with you more. I used to hate smoking, and at times I felt so crappy after smelling it that I thought maybe I was allergic, but about 10 years ago everyone else I was hanging around with smoked and after many days and many hours of playing video games in the same room together, I became hooked on the nicotine (and tasty chemicals) without even realizing it.

Fast forward to today, I'm not happy about it, but I'm a smoker. They say it takes 7 tries to quite on average... I'm getting close!

Because I realize it's a gross habit and don't want my apartment and clothes smelling like smoke all the time. Plus the fact that my landlord would kick me out, which wouldn't be much fun.

Nicotine is a dirt cheap drug that is available everywhere 24/7.

Smoke in your house is the easy solution. I think smoking helps my game, calms me down.

I know why people get "hooked"...but I never understood why they do it a 2nd time. (I tried it once to see what it was like...I know people do it to be cool/peer pressure) but why not smoke weed at least if you're going to smoke something?

That made me lol... and smoking has saved me many dollars because it has given me ample reason to leave the table in B&M or online to take a break to smoke for a bit when tilting.

this law just passed in my state, complete bull****. prohibition didn't work, i'd be surprised if this did. sure, it will might stay a law, like jaywalking (which i've been threatened to be arrested for), but it will be hard to enforce, considering it takes like 7 min. to smoke a cig and like 15-20min for the police to arrive.
