xposted from NVG: Feel like this deserves its own discussion thread.
From 888 ROW thread:

Some of my thoughts:
-Firstly, this could be a sign that 888 ROW will be making this change eventually, so this could potentially impact you if you are in the global pool.
-
This is a pretty big deal -- in the past, a lot of botters and colluders have been caught by PLAYERS who have access to hand histories and can do analyses in their own databases on their own time. This makes it impossible for the community to self-police
-in addition, not being able to track your own individual results is a pretty big annoyance. Also makes it so there is no way to review your past sessions/hands which changes a fundamental part of how people get better at poker.
I guess my main question is WHY are they making this move? If it's part of a push towards not having HUDs, I think this is the wrong move (especially for higher stakes) for the following reasons:
-there are better ways to do this -- anonymous games, screen name changes, etc
-it's a small player pool where most regs know everyone's screennames on each site. Therefore, you could theoretically still have HUD stats on someone if you just look at their stats on Party/Stars. I think in the end this just makes things even worse for recreational players.
Would be curious to hear what others think and for 888/WSOP to post their justification for this change.
PS: If a mod could edit this to embed the image, that would be awesome.
