I asked this same question a few years ago but ended up not coming back to online poker... And the answer seems to change now as carbon/merge is almost dead, so let me ask again... Which site(s) is the best site for low stakes ($11 or below, maybe $22) SNG players? I need the traffic to support 8-tabling or more. I'll be playing 8pm to 11pm pacific time every day.

Bovada seems to have the best traffic still, but AFAIK it only allows 4-tabling?

I can mix some MTTs but don't want to play too long. ACR's MTT seem to be too long with all the rebuys? Does ACR have enough SNG traffic alone?

Also is rake reasonable?

You're going to have to play more than 1 site to achieve 8 tables at those stakes. As you know, Bovada caps you at 4. From there, you should check the number 2 and number 3 US friendly sites which are Winning Poker Network (ACR) and Chico Poker Network (Sportsbetting.ag and BetOnline).

Most of ACR's SNG traffic was cannibalized by Jackpot SNGs and if you played 10s and 25s, you might be able to 8 table.... if you can play 8 tables of that format effectively that is. If you want straight freezeouts, stick to Bovada for those types of MTTs, and note, MTTs don't count towards your table cap at Bovada, only cash games and SNGs count towards the 4 table cap.

Either micro-stakes NL or SNGs.

I'm in Tennessee, BTW. Not opposed to using BitCoin, but have never used before.
acr has games with short buyins.

Is there any way to track results on Bet Online? I don't mind not having a HUD but I'd like to be able to track results over a large sample.

I'd say the largest stakes that run on WPN is 25/50 PLO / NLHE.

Is there a site that is allowed in NY that does not have any cashout problems? Its a bit confusing for someone new to read, as plenty of people seem to have cashout issues but at the same time others get theirs fast.

and don't say "read the thread" because the more i read the more confused I become

Networks that allow players from your state who pay in a pretty timely manner include:

Winning Poker Network (ACR, BCP, True)
Chico Poker Network (Sportsbetting.ag, Betonline)
Grand Poker Network (5dimes, Sportbet)
Horizon Poker Network (Intertops, Juicy Stakes)

I would not encourage using the WPN network as a US player. I have done that and my first cash out has been the biggest headache of my life. I wouldnt recommend it.

I have never had an issue cashing out with ACR. Yes, you do have to provide documents for your first cashout because they don't want to be complicit in money laundering, but most sites require that. Hell I've been waiting for over 2 weeks for my Bovada cash out. I've never had to wait that long with ACR via bitcoin.

Hey guys, I used to post a lot pre-BF and haven't been around at all since, got busy with work, etc. (I'm lucky enough to be a TV writer who finally found work -- if anyone here is in LA and wants to come to tapings just PM me

I know there's a million threads with versions of these questions but I can't seem to find any straight answers, so I'm hoping you guys can just tell me the truth. I am on hiatus at work and play live poker and miss online, was thinking of jumping back in. Can those of you who actually know **** let me know:

-Is ACR or Bodog better for mainly low-med stake MTTs and maybe a little cash?

-How do they handle deposits / cashouts? I don't know what VFF is - can they do direct wire or even a check? I see a ton of horror stories on the cash out thread and makes me think I should suck it up and just wait for CA to regulate?

-If it's ACR, is 27% Rakeback from TheNuts still good or did they fall off? Their support hasn't emailed me back.

-Do they both have good Mac clients?

That's it, thanks for helping, I'm trying to make a smart choice. In any event can't wait for it to be regulated in CA!

  • Bovada is going to be the softer site and has more tournaments than ACR / Winning Poker Network. That said, WPN is the only site that runs $1,000,000 guaranteed tournaments and is growing while Bovada has dropped over 35% of it's volume this year (it's still 1.45x the size of ACR).
  • Both choices have a lot of excellent cashout options. I highly recommend that you use bitcoin whenever available however. Bovada has bitcoin for deposits. ACR / WPN has bitcoin for both deposits and withdrawals.
  • VFF is a credit card refund. Some people love them, but they're not something I really recommend since I forsee possible future problems for players who get a lot of "credit card refunds" for items that they never purchased and money that they never spent. It typically takes anywhere from 4-20 days depending on how quickly the site and it's 3rd party processor is sending out funds.
  • TheNuts is still a legit site AFAIK, though they mostly do social media and email marketing now with very little web presence. With that said, any number of affiliates can offer you the 27% rakeback deal, or, you can even get it through the site by request (though due to some other factors, it's best to get it direct from the start). You may actually be better off on the VIP program if you put in decent volume at mid-stakes cash and MTTs.
  • Bovada's software has come under fire with the most recent updates and many players claim it's unplayable (probably partially responsible for the unusually large and premature seasonal dip in traffic they are experiencing). However, many players play there just fine on Mac. YMMV. ACR's Mac client is in open Beta testing and has its share of problems for some players as well. Again, YMMV. You can always use WINE to emulate Windows and use their PC clients.
  • I'm of the opinion that it will be at least 4 years until real money online poker is available in Cali. Others will disagree with me however.

Maybe I made a big mistake using the Pay2Card option. Either way the experience has made me very nervous.

Ty so much this is great info! Seems like you rec bodog and no rb. My only question is what do you mean by YMMV? And bodog is no hud right?

Maybe I'll put a little $ on both and play their best tourneys since you said ACR is on the upswing with better gaurantees but bodog is still bigger.

Since play is anonymous, HUDs work only for the current session.

Bovada and Winning Poker Network are your best bets for FL08 action currently.

I'm going to have to disagree. A buddy of mine sent me a stud hand on WPN not 48 hours ago to look over and see if he played correctly. I know there is action going b/c all he plays is Stud games.

Does anyone wish to recommend a site that has traffic? Pays out quickly? Is decently regulated to stop cheaters?
