Jack, I don't want to be unkind, but you need to apply some critical thinking skills and logic when using the Internet, or you're going to get sucked in by all sorts of things. The fact that you've given the response above indicates to me that you haven't, because the post you're replying to should've instantly made it clear to you that your earlier post made no sense. What network would have a pop-up on their website telling you to play somewhere else?

The Internet is full of look-alike sites that will try to deceive or slightly mislead you in order to sell you something. Or even worse, to defraud you (phishing sites). You need to be on the lookout for that sort of thing.

Admittedly, mergepoker.org does sound like a potentially legit site name, but the .org is a bit of a red flag, as is the pop-up telling you to play elsewhere. For someone who is familiar with poker sites (and I understand that may not be you), the page doesn't look anything like the home page for a major poker network.

FWIW, here is their actual home page, which won't be of much use to you:

http://www.mergegaming.com/

Going to network home pages, and emailing the networks, probably isn't going to get you what you want anyway. As 39suited mentioned in an earlier post, you need to ask specific sites about their promotions.

It is of NO use to me or anyone ... except those who want to know about network status.

Can anyone here give me a website that lists the Merge affiliates without insulting me?

He is not insulting you but points out to simply think twice and take the information you find on the Internet with a grain of salt.

And you won't get anyone to openly post the names of affiliates for Merge sites on here, as that is against the forum rules. Would you accept that someone walks into your office and tells people to check out your competitors instead?

It really shouldn't be that difficult to find the information you are looking for by simply using Google. For what it's worth, Carbon won't allow affiliates to sign up any more players for about a year. I am not sure if other Merge skins followed this path as well.

Well, I thought it would at least be of use to you to show what the actual Merge site was. IE that it wasn't the one you had thought. Sorry to have apparently wasted your time.

Considering no one has insulted you yet, I'm not sure what you're worried about.

"Affiliates" has a pretty specific meaning in the poker world, and I suspect that instead you mean poker sites affiliated with that network. If I'm correct, pokerscout is a good place to find all the networks and sites associated with them.

What do you mean? 2+2 is a competitor? 2+2 runs its own poker site?

This post alone pretty much highlights that you have absolutely no idea what an affiliate is nor that you have any knowledge about online poker itself.

2+2 is one of the biggest and well known online poker forums and do have their own affiliate deals. Some affiliates pay to advertise on here, but apart from that it obviously makes zero sense to let other people randomly spam about competitor deals.

And I bet you don't think that's a put-down either, right?

The reality can be harsh at times, as has been previously pointed out to you. Hopefully the directness of the posts will open your eyes and ensure that you read twice before making costly mistakes.

One thing to keep in mind when browsing the Internet: If it sounds too good to be true, it may turn out to be a wolf in sheep's clothing.

Baloney! The paragraph I quoted was simply insulting. Period. It contributed nothing. Reality check my behind. Remove it and it is a decent post. Same could be said of the first two paragraphs of Bobo Fett's post. It was needlessly offensive. By the way, if you ever feel the need to say something like "Not be unkind but...", you're about to be unkind. That little preamble doesn't change that fact. That neither of you can see this is rather sad. You don't need to put people down to make your points. Yes, it makes you feel superior, but you and thus this forum come across poorly. Yeah, I know, I'm talking to a wall. Circle your wagons. I don't care. I'm unsubscribing to this thread.

Wow.

If you're going to get this worked up over my implication that you haven't applied critical thinking skills and logic, you're going to find the Internet in general to be a very harsh place. I felt it was very necessary to point out to you, rather than simply show you that wasn't Merge's site, because you're going to come across this kind of thing many times, and it's important that you develop the skills to figure this kind of thing out on your own.

And FWIW, I said "not to be unkind" to let you know that the purpose behind what I was saying was not to insult you (IE "I'm not posting this simply to be unkind"). You may have found it insulting, but that's not why it was posted. I don't know any way to tell you that you need to work on your critical thinking skills other than to...tell you that you need to work on your critical thinking skills. It was meant to be constructive criticism.

You've received a lot of excellent advice in this thread, but for some reason you're choosing to focus in on a couple of sentences that have hurt your feelings. An inability to handle mild criticism isn't going to help you when you're trying to learn things.

Somehow I think he will get upset over many more things that aren't as trivial as this when continuing his exploration of the Internet.

Did they change the name of Intertops poker to Horizon Poker? I don't see Revolution/Intertops listed on PokerScout currently but I do see this new name "Horizon Poker" filling the spot that Revo used to.

edit: Looking at it again it looks like Juicy and Intertops merged with another group of networks. Can someone confirm this? Thanks.

Just click on the "Horizon" name in PokerScout, and you'll have your answer.

It's been posted about a couple of times on our forums as well.

Intertops did not change its name. The Revolution Network has been renamed and no merger took place.

So... where can US players play? 345 pages doesn't really help.

I tried Bovada but after a while my card quit working. Any other sites legit and worth playing on?

Also, what are the primary methods to funding? Many banks decline debit card use.

Why not try out America's Cardroom then? It allows bitcoin deposits and withdrawals...
