Speaking of internet poker in Nevada generally, what are the big on-line tournaments this summer during June-July?

If I am a tourist, can I use an Apple or a Windows machine, Android or doesn't it matter?

Thanks kindly!

~John

Hi Everyone,

I'm sorry I"m not sure where to post this... But my Bovada acct won't let me play and I was thinking of depositing on True Poker.

Is this a good idea since I am in the US? Thx for all advice and sorry again if I posted in the wrong forum.

Hi,

How many sites are there in Nevada?

Also, are there any good internet tournaments going on during June and July in Nevada? I mean especially big ones?

Thanks!

~John

PS Sorry if this is a dupe; I forgot to hit the e-mail notification button last time so I am looking for my post. Did it this time though.

Thanks!

Is True Poker still open to US players? Should I download the .net site or .eu?

Thank you for any answers

I'd like to apologize in advance if I'm posting this in the wrong forum or if this violates any of the rules in the stickies. I have a few questions about game availability on NJ poker sites and figured this would be the best place to find answers.

About two years ago when I last visited NJ, I downloaded and played on borgatapoker.com and the experience was actually pretty enjoyable. I deposited some money, played a few nights, and withdrew funds from the cashier at Borgata. The only understandable inconvenience was verifying my age and identity, which took some time.

I will be visiting NJ again for 5 days and would like to play some poker during my visit. Because Poker Stars is now available in NJ, and because its software is far superior to Party Poker (this was never a huge issue for me as I normally play Bovada where I currently live), I would assume the number of games available on borgatapoker.com is minimal.

That said, is it worth going through the process of verifying my age/identity on Stars NJ or WSOP NJ to have access to more games? I typically play 25c/50c NL through 1/2 NL or 50c/1 stud through 2/4 stud (stud was not available in abundance on borgatapoker.com when I last played).

Any and all advice is greatly appreciated.

This didn't sound correct, so I asked Bovada Support and just received:

"We are very happy to have new players, even from the state of Iowa."

Does Bovada still not accept new players from the state of NY or are they open to everyone now?

edit: Nevermind. Site still says they don't accept players from NY.

I'm in LV for the WSOP and assumed WSOP.com has lots of traffic so signed up and opened the lobby with a great feeling as I haven't had played a hand of online poker after that one fateful Friday morning where I had my cup of coffee in my hand and was no longer to log in to PokerStars.

Well, seems my assumption was wrong. There is no traffic in the PLO or PLO8 game and the highest limit in NL is 1/2? Is this real? I'm shocked.

So, where do people play?

At the Rio and all other casinos that run a tournament series right now? Tbh I wouldn't expect much traffic especially during the mass events such as Colossus and Millionaire Maker etc.

If Merge is no longer accepting US players, shouldn't the first post in this thread be updated?

Yup. Ideally, though, I'd like to see a little more official confirmation on that.

I wrote support and here is what I received - given the spelling mistakes, looks to me like the person wrote this while cleaning their desk on their way out? :-) :

Thank you for contacting us.

Unfortunately we are not accepting new accounts from the USA as per management decision that is why the country does not show in our sign up page. We cannot confirm if this would be permanet.
We are keep our USA customer so do not worry you can still play, deposit and withdrawal without any problem.

I hope this clarifies your questions.
We apologize for any inconvenience caused.

Well, since you're clearly a US player, the answer is yes, and no.

Good news is, Intertops / Juicy Stakes has fast fold poker built into their software.

Bad news is, it doesn't run very often.

Other than that, there is no such thing in the US market.

Can someone please explain why Bovada does not accept players from New York? I have emailed their support about this and was told that they have difficulty processing deposits/withdrawals for NY players.

But now that Bovada is dealing in Bitcoin I don't see why they cannot lift the ban on NY players. Am I missing something, or does Bovada just not want to increase their traffic?

I would imagine they don't accept NY players because they have difficulty processing deposits/withdrawals for NY players. I would also presume that the aggressive AGs in NY having had online gambling litigation in the past discouraging to Bovada management.

Been playing ACR now for a few months on micro stakes. My only concerns are that it sometimes can be tough to get in on tables since there isn't that many players and it seems like it might be tougher competition from what I hear.

Should I move over to Bovada in this case? More fish and players? Are there any cons to Bovada like trouble cashing out for US players or anything like that?
