Where Can US Players Play? Where Can US Players Play?

I just sent a WU payment to one of the recommended sites from this thread. Didn't even leave home, just sent it through the WU site. Still nervous though.

sorry for not converting, none of the converters work with this format.

They said i was "instructed" by sorky for how to play the hand. I see no such chat dialogue and this is a completely standard play and is ridiculous that they would block my account because of it. Why would I ever bet Ace high with a Jack kicker here? Just so silly... site is obviously run by amateurs.

what is a vig and what does it do for you to get your money?

I really don't think we need this to continue in two different threads - it really has nothing to do with this one.

Vigorish. Can't tell you much else without some context, as it can mean different things.

Vig is the house cut -- Essentially, if you play a $20 + $2 SNG, the $2 is the vig.

I'm currently on Cake. The normal $5 sng's are fine, usually don't take too long to fill up. They usually take 5-20 minutes.

However, the $10 & $20 SNG's NEVER (or hardly ever) fill. I've gone an hour sometimes and still only 1 of 10 players.

Are there any U.S. sites that have $10 & $20 SNG's that fill up in a decent amount of time?

On Cake, the $10 double up usually fills pretty quickly, but I'm not a huge fan of the double up's.

NOTE: I very rarely play cash, so that doesn't matter. I'm keeping a very limited bankroll because I figure any remaining US sites could be shut down any minute.

Bodog, Merge.

For SNG players the options are extremely limited. Bodog is on par with Everleaf as far as wait times go, so you won't really be happy with that.

i just saw it in another post and the guy was complaining about not getting his payout processed and he said he got a vig and then got the money or something? and now he is looking for somewhere else to play. i can be wrong idk if this is helpful but thats all i remember

I tried to sign up on Lock and Carbon yesterday with no luck. Maybe I was doing something wrong but will try to re-download this afternoon.

Anyone else having trouble signing up the last few days?

You are talking about the post from Music Studio Fund earlier, I believe.

He was saying he paid a "discount" which is also known as vig, in order to get an amount of money on another platform or another financial system which he could then access.

In other words, he might have transferred an amount, (let's say $100 for example), to some other player that wanted funds on Merge; in return he might get some lesser amount, (say $85), in another form of payment The difference is said to be vig. The other form is likely to be funds on WU or some other widely accepted financial system.

This is risky, as there are some trust issues that are involved here. I believe there are threads here for peer to peer transfers or trading. Find out as much as you can before trying this, you don't want to be scammed.

EDIT - I guess it is technically called "person to person" and the thread is here. The first post is required reading before posting in that thread, as you are required to follow the stipulated rules.

I've pretty much given up on online play for now, and I'm doing some side work to build a bankroll for live play. I played up to $10 tournamnents online, local live tournaments start at $30. I can't count on taking shots and getting lucky so I can continue to play at $30.
Wow, having to sit and wait for a $5 SNG to fill up. That shows how far we've fallen.

They are not accepted new US players at the moment. This might change in the near future. If you hurry you can get on Pokerview today, they will be on the same network and as of today they are taking US players. This may or may not be an option as early as tomorrow.

I'm not up to date with the Black Friday issue, but how come Americans are allowed to play on certain sites and not, let's say Stars?

Stars and a few other sites were the targets of a DOJ attack. They no longer accept US players.

so is there any good options for $5 SNG's for U.S. players? I'm on everleaf now and the waits are HORRIBLE.

Your best bet would be to split your poker bankroll and put a few $ on the few remaining US sites. This might shorten your wait to play your S&Gs some. There is no one US site loaded with S&Gs anymore although both Merge and Bodog would have more action than your current site.

Hello,
US player here who has played on only Bodog. Satisifed with the site minus the fact that only 4 tables can be played at once, and no available rakeback (that I am aware). Looking for new site where I can play more than 4 tables at a time and utilize a rakeback program. Have done endless research and have noticed a trend forming: Every site seems to have a major flaw or deal-breaker (Not allowing US players being the popular one).
What are your personal opinions/recommendations/suggestions for a US-allowing site with rakeback opportunity? My desperation and lack of luck is major tilt and I am itching for action!
Thank you in advance

I don't know. If anyone knows a US facing site that can cashout in less than 2 weeks I am there.
09-13-2011 , 10:46 PM
There are no good US sites anymore in comparison to the choices we had before. Your options can be found in this link but there is no Valhalla sorry.

Thanks. I am ok with Bodog, just wish I could play more tables at once. I have seen lists of US available sites but was curious if some were known to be more reputable than others. Appreciate the input.

If the search is endless, it's only because you're looking for things that aren't there - you're not going to get everything you want on one site. There are only 5 networks worth mentioning that accept US players, and one isn't taking new ones ATM. So Bodog, Cake, Everleaf, and Yatahay are as good as it gets for new accounts.

You could try adding another site in conjunction with Bodog to play more tables perhaps.

Both excellent points. Leaning more and more toward Cake, all seems well minus limited traffic, and perhaps simultaneously playing Bodog.

In regards to the withdrawal process, any experience/input as to Cake's? I can vouch for Bodog getting my previous withdrawal requests to me in a very timely manner.

i now have no qualms with minted. Their support is helpful however a little useless at times... like with my account getting blocked - the way they went about it was very frustrating.

Anyways I've been boomswitched on Minted now and am playing there and its software is better than any other software for US.
