It is opening up to the US market next week. Now whether or not they will allow players from certain states like Maryland and New York we'll see.

Merge

Try Betraiser, it's worth the hassle.

Cliffs: Rake-free (10% fee on Winnings by withdrawal, nothing else)
You need to enter US or USA in your country-code. Try to hook me (or look in the betraiser topic) up for a p2p transfer.

I ended up signing up on sportsbook on merge. They actually have a decent table layout after u get use to it and plenty of fish. Couldnt use mastercard to charge so I went to walgreens and got a 20$ gift card.

DO NOT USE!!! In order to get a free check sent you must cash out $500, and you only get 1 of those a month. If you want to cash out twice in a month or less than $500 you will need to pay $50+ in fees. Also they will not pay you without all three of these:

1. Scanned drivers liscence
2. Scanned front and back of credit card! LOL
3. Scanned UTILITY BILL with address matching the other 2!

Sounds like they are selling high end identities out the back door! It is also based in CHINA. Software is garbage too. So generally STAY AWAY FROM BET ONLINE

It always amazes me how people will look past merge, everleaf, cake, bodog, and truepoker for a site that nobody has heard of.

Strange first post op, bet online shill?

Maybe cause bodog is the only one that will pay out in a timely matter. And ppl want there money.

Do some research bud. Everleaf uses western union and I received a check from truepoker within a week.

Hey guys im a US player looking to start playing online again. Was wondering what the best sites are for heads up NL and PLO ranging from .25/.50 to 5/10. Please include merge sites also as they're supposedly opening up to new US players soon. Thnx in advance.

I would agree with you, Merge has an excellent VIP system which will continue to improve

So would you guys say our best bet right now is Sportsbook? If not, what other sites?

I would not play on Sportsbook personally. They have a pretty poor rating. I would wait a bit and see if Merge opens to US players and choose one of the more reputable Merge skins like RPM, Lock, or BlackChip(among others).

If you want to play now, then the site I would recommend would depend on what game types you play, what stakes you play, and what is most important to you as a player(Example: is RakeBack the most important, Traffic, ability to Multi-table, or Cashout speed).

Basically the best room will probably depend on what your looking for. With Merge not accepting new US signups right now, there isn't a clear favorite, IMO and thus the best option is largely dependant on the individual player.

Some of the other sites include Minted Poker, True Poker, Bodog, and Intertops. They all have their positives and negatives so it's hard to say which may be best for you without knowing the specifics of what you play and what you are looking for. If you would like try to provide a little more information on what your looking for and then some of us can probably give you what we would recommend.

Some may well recommend Sportsbook, but I would avoid them personally.

I would certainly agree. I can't speak on their behalf but from my personal experience Sportsbook has been very shotty and certainly not on my list of reputable Merge skins. I too would wait for other Merge skins to re-open their doors to US players before signing up.

As a New York player your not going to be able to play at Sportsbook because they have stopped accepting NY residents. TBH, your options are going to be pretty limited, but there are a few sites you can join one being Minted Poker.
08-15-2011 , 03:06 PM
Sportsbook has reasonably decent SNG traffic, at least compared to the other options currently available. I'm talking about FR sngs here, 6-max might be decent as well though. If you want to play HU sngs, play somewhere else probably.

But if FR sng players/grinders are having trouble finding a place to play, Sportsbook could actually be good for them.

What's the word on when, roughly, Merge will be accepting U.S. players again?
08-15-2011 , 04:54 PM
TiltTheTilt, can you tell me what stakes you play by the way at minted and how many tables you do?

Because i really find it hard for people to even cashout money when i don't even see more than 2 tables of 50NL running at once and majority of those tables are 10NL and below and even so... there isn't that many tables.
