I'm fine with everything if they fix the memory usage. I'd prefer if your table size was saved and if they could be adjusted a bit smaller but it's the same as party poker, annoying but workable. I'd be a lot more pissed off if I still played cash.

I'm too happy to have antes and a slower blind structure to really care about anything else. We're about to see the impossible, ongame MTTs are going to get softer.

You can, just click the selected dot again and selection disappears.

But as you said, feels like a downgrade.

HM is working and HUD will in few days probably

so now somehow has to find out how to make old notes work. Any ideas?

Do you have the same problem?
- I see old notes only from lobby
- From tables I dont see any notes or marks
- I can add new notes if didn,t have any on that player before
- when I try to add new note on player that had note before it doesn,t show after I save it

I can't find out where the players are from in this new software? It's kind of nice to know if you're up against a table full of Russians or crazy Norwegians. Am I just missing it?

UPDATE! What’s happening at Ongame Network?
June 12th, 2009

We are happy to inform that Ongame Network has now begun the transitional period into P5 - The Poker Engine. The transitional period successfully started on June 9th.

During this period, as with any software introduction, we expect to encounter a few bumps along the road. Your patience and understanding is greatly appreciated during and immediately following this transitional phase.

The initial phase of P5 does not include every feature we aim to provide. We would like to take this opportunity to thank those of you who have given, and are giving us, constructive feedback. Your feedback enables us to best evaluate which updates are the most pressing from the player perspective.

P5 - The Poker Engine by design will allow us to add features and carry out maintenance in a much more responsive and agile manner. So we are looking at releasing many functional additions continuously.

Respectfully,

Ombudsman
Ongame Network

The opinions of the Ongame Network Ombudsman may not necessarily reflect those of Ongame Network Ltd.

****ing idiots.
Bye bye Ongame.

Software brings me on instant-tilt. Look at this crap. You cant even read the text if the table size is not big enough.

Te new software is unplayable. I have no notes no dots or anything even in the lobby. And how the hell are we supposed to get on tables with no waiting lists???
I'm going to stop playing there. Any suggestions??? ( no FTP no Stars please )

But Ongame wants you to play at stars. thats why they took away 8x and gave a worse loyalty scheme than stars. then they took the software and made it into a terrible cheap ass crap version of a stars/tilt bastard offspring piece of junk.

They want us to all go and play at poker stars, they must want that, why else would they do this?

I agree with almost all of what was said. Yes, I can use placemint to get around the need to resize all tables manually, yes, I can get myself to not use the mouse wheel anymore with some learning etc etc, but the point is that they totally messed up the release for all the reasons pointed out.

You would expect that it really is basic common sense that:

Software should never become worse
features should never be taken away from one version to the next
performance should not become worse unless there is a significant improvement for it etc etc

BUT, I see these things happening at my workplace alot of the time too and I work for a top-tier investment bank. Usually the software gets worse and get people upset when software dev is given to offshore where people have no direct contact with the users. managers make decisions, no one really cares as long as budget is available and in the end you get worse software than you had before.

The times the software actually gets better are if the users (traders) are actively involved. you would never give real-time trading apps to offshore, you give them to a team of highly skilled professionals that can code really well and also understand alot about the trader's day jobs and needs. but it costs alot, alot more than offshore dev. To translate this into poker, Pokerstars is an example for this.

Managers tend to see the short-term cost saving first and neglect the long-time impact to the companies bottom-line. you probably don't make it to the top if you keep exceeding budgets all the time but really make cool software that regular poker players or multitablers like so desasters like this happen.

We all can spent countless hours on this thread complaning or emailing at support and getting even more upset cause support at those companies doesn't work and never will work (for example, a good support person that works for trading desk gets 50k euros/year for a reason, what do you think a bwin support person gets?). We need to show them the direct impact of their decisions. We need to stand up as a whole and show them how much money they are going to loose because we will be moving away from their platform. Let's make capitalism work the other way too, money is our biggest argument and is the only language people in management understand.

Let's make a new thread, organized by someone competent (mod, long-time poster etc) where everyone can post that intends to leave the site how much hands they play, which skin and how much rake they are worth and when they will be leaving. I'll be leaving Tower when I've finished clearing the bonus and would post my details in the new thread. Then we can sum all of this up and get it to someone in management.

All thoughts / improvements welcome, this is just an idea but I think the plan is better than just getting upset and slilently leaving.

I personally think it would be a good idea to list all the points that need to be changed about the new software, and a reason.
When there is a complete list, it can be send to Ongame. (Yes, it's the wrong way around when you consider we are the customers, but there seems not much that can be done about this).

Maybe someone who volunteers to take all the suggestions and place them in a list, sorted by category?

My suggestions:
1. Option to have all tables opened in the size the last table was closed at (or pre-selectable sizes, all in an options menu)
2. Mini table should not have information hidden below objects so they become unreadable, like the dealer button that becomes hidden for some seats, under the action bar thingy.
3. Option to have the chat always minimized at the opening of a table
4. Hand number at the top of the screen (not in the chat, I don't want to have to open chat window just to view the hand number)
5. Option to customize a table (like colors of everything from cards to player balance text color, dealer button etc.)
6. Waiting lists for cash games
7. Quick seat for SNGs

Would be good if everybody who are not satisfied with the new client wrote to ongame and complained so that they'll fix this asap!

Franki, this is not how it's going to work unfortunately. yes, they theoretically should do everything we tell them, but the world is not ideal I'm afraid. We just can't give them a list and ask them to work it through...

we need to tell them exactly how much money they are going to loose from 2+2ers alone if they are not going to fix the current software and THEN send the list and that list shouldn't even contain more than 4 items at most.

Probably the best thing you can do, is not to play on Ongame anymore. It is the only way to force them to do something.

Heh, you might be right. We posted at the exact same moment, so I didn't read your post before I made mine, unfortunately.

I play some SNGs, not much rake for them to loose. Just thought that if we can have a complete list of things that are obviously wrong (features removed that were used by many players, etc.) they can never say "you never told us what should be changed".

Ongame reps do read these forums, right?

If this list exists, everyone can simply paste it in an e-mail to <Ongame skin> support, take out points he doesn't care about, and send it in. Also add to that e-mail that you are not happy with the current state of the software and that you consider leaving them if things don't change.

We can do both: make a "You are going to be missing out on the amount of rake" list AND make a "We want these things changed" list.

But that's just my newbie opinion. I normally only read these forums, never write

wtf are the hands SO SLOW. I bet I'd get 25-35% less hands per hr on this piece of trash. also my player notes are really hard to read because for some reason they decided to make the background of the notes section translucent... jesus.

Garak: try re-installing the whole thing. Uninstall the old version or try to install in a different folder.
