Re: What's happening at Ongame?

Any software changes on any site are null unless graphic hand histories are added like on ipoker, merge and cake network.

Yeah playing at bwin. Got some points yesterday but not today. But thats more or less standard with old software as well, so I guess I get them sooner or later.

Starting to like the new client to be honest. The only real downside for me is the slowrolling showdowns and super slow allin moments.

Taken from a page on bwin:

News flash - New client release
As you are all probably well aware we have recently deployed our new poker client. Unfortunately we are currently experiencing some issues that we are obviously working very hard to resolve. These issues are as disappointing to us as they are an inconvenience to you and for this we would like to apologize.

Our new poker client by design will allow us to add features and carry out maintenance in a much more responsive and agile manner. So we are looking at releasing functional additions shortly with minimum disruption.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank those of you who have given, and are giving us, constructive feedback. Your feedback enables us to best evaluate which updates are the most pressing from the player perspective.

Looking for Mini-Tables?

Table resizing is simple and instant. Just drag the table to the required size with your cursor.

Adding full screen?

We would like to thank you for your feedback and add that we are working on a full screen feature that will be available very soon.

Looking for waiting lists?

Unfortunately waiting lists are currently unavailable. We are working hard to include them in a future release. In the mean time, use quick seat (found when clicking the bwin logo in the left corner) or the lobby filters to find the tables you are looking for with availability.

Tables popping up?

We are working hard to add the function that will allow you to deactivate this pop up.

How many players are online?

The number of players online can be found at bwin poker home page.

Re: What's happening at Ongame?

The lateral panel is one of things I most hated at Betfair for instance. How much time they invested in this software? More than a year I believe. Why they didn't learn from good user interphases like PokerStars, FullTilt or Absolute? I can't even wait to see how much it clogs the processor.

I cross my fingers

Re: What's happening at Ongame?

Frankly I am very disappointed with this update, there are numerous basic errors and changes they have made excluding the bugs they are trying to fix now.

To start with they have changed the colours of the chips from standard casino colours to their own , they are not very appealing and on top of that at low stakes games they use 3 stacks of 7 pink 1 cent chips with 1 stack of 4 pink 1 cent chips to represent a 25 cent bet. It is completely impossible to look at a stack and determine how much it is without the figure next to it. Plus it looks terrible and unprofessional

Also the value of the pot is printed halfway over the chips representing the pot and is not clearly visible or easy to see quickly, also they no longer have the pot value or bet size represented in the box where we click fold, check, bet etc...

The tables can be resized but when you resize to the smallest the boxes with the player names overlap their cards on the table for those players on the bottom of the table and its very difficult to quickly judge who is still in the hand, when you are multitabling and using small tables this is quite important, so the resizing option for me is useless. Also we can't move the new chat box around, even though it is designed better, it only seems to open on the right side of the table.

Another thing they've done is slow down the dealing when players are all in which was needed, but now there is a 5 second wait for the river card, which is way too much.

One of the things I liked about OnGame before was its fast gameplay, now they've introduced swirling cards when we are dealt or when you fold which look slow and cumbersome and when we bet our remaining stack numbers scroll around like a poker machine to reveal what we have left, we have to wait a second to see how much someone has left behind after they bet, it's unnecessary and really annoying imo.

They have done some good things, but overall these things I mentioned have really turned me off and I'm not going to stay if things don't change

that's my 2 cents!

Between now and the 16th of June all Ongame sites should be on the new software. At least, that was the initial plan.

Edit: This is an email quoted earlier in the thread:

Quote:
dear xxxxxxx

Get ready for bigger and better things this June! ONGAME is about to launch brand new Poker Software (P5 Version). We will be transitioning over to the new Poker Software in stages beginning June 9th through to June 16th, with no disruption to your play.

These are a hint of all the great new functions and features to come:
New lobby with games filters.
Direct seating.
Resizable tables.
Chat at the tables.
Mac computer download and much, much more!
I'm taking this to mean that all the sites are transfering between those dates, in stages. I might be misunderstanding what the email means though.

Re: What's happening at Ongame?

I can't use Ongame Hand Grabber for Bwin now. Hand Grabber doesn't work on Ongame anymore? There's nothing I can do about it? That's correct, right? I'm confused.
