The more I hear about it the more fortunate I feel to have been treated early and by all accounts successfully for Lyme. I've seen a friend go thru the more persistent/chronic symptoms and it can be awful. Best of luck with it.

what kind of bankroll do you think is necessary if a player was going to short stack .50cent 1$ and 1/2$ nl full ring. in pursuit of SNE in 2011?

i know you play 6max but what do you think a good vpip/vip for short stacking full ring?

what kind of music do you play(on guitar)?

thanks for your time

thanks for doing this

1. I eat a very healthy diet. I think it's important to go with organic foods. And even eat meats that are not pumped full of antibiotics and hormones. Eat balanced meals. And I think it's a good idea to eat a significant amount of raw foods, uncooked veggies, meats, nuts, seeds...
2. Any time I try to reference my blog a 2p2 mod insta-deletes the link, they seem to be pretty intent on no blog promotion. I just thought having specific links to my blog would help answer questions more efficiently. With that said, my blog can be found in my profile. The posts titled "Typical Day: Part 1 & Part 2" pretty much sum up my daily routine.
3. No problems with carpal tunnel since getting a trackman mouse. Regarding exercise, I try to get a light workout in during my mid day break, something that just gets the blood flowing for 15 minutes or so. Then I finish up by hanging upside down in an inversion chair for about 5 minutes, good for circulation and posture.

4. Planning. For me personally, I am the most successful when I have a routine. When will you wake up? When will you go to sleep? Important to play during peak hours at your stakes? Who will prepare your meals? Can they do this on a daily basis? When and how often can you take breaks.. you may want to set alarms as to not get side tracked and take too long of breaks. Always plan on the conservative side... account for possible sick days, days (or weeks), such as in December when VPP/hand rates are generally lower due to tables being packed full of regs.
5. I stopped looking after mid year because I think focusing too much on EV was frustrating to me. I had been running poorly most of the year and I didn't like the state of mind it was putting me in. I posted some charts in the SNE thread early on in the year. I don't recall the exact runbad in BB. I usually just looked at $. I haven't had any significant heaters this year that I'm aware of.
6. I look at my winrate by position (something I mention in a recent blog post.) If I see I am deviating too far from what I feel is solid, then I dig deeper to investigate the problem. I filter for just that position and I put all those hands in the replayer and watch them closely, taking notes. If I can't spot any glaring leaks, then I go into my database and look for a reg that is winning at a rate from this position that I'm striving to achieve. Again I filter for this player for this specific position, and then I want each hand. I don't make a habit of flying through each hand and assuming it's obvious why they made a particular decision. I try to take all factors into consideration... players left to act, the preflop and postflop stats of the villian in questions , the hero's hand ranges, bet sizing, board textures, etc.
7. I don't think fun is a term that would accurately describe my relationship with poker. It was fun when I was 16 years old. Now I would probably describe it as enjoyable.. because I do enjoy the challenge.. and I do enjoy the opportunities it has given me.

any advice on not procrastinating? sometimes high goals seem to push off work more than low ones, like i know if my plan was to play 4 hours/day everyday i'd do that every single day, but when it's to play 12 hours/day then i'd rather put it off completely!

what tasks other than cooking/groceries/laundry would you require of an assistant?

how often do you check results?

how did you meet your gf?

if you want to be on a certain schedule that requires you to wake up at, say, 8am, but one night you go to sleep at 4am how do you fix this? wake up at 8am and play tired?
1. Haha, looks like you saw my previous post before I updated the hours to approx 3000 (or 75 hours a week). I had based my first answer on a spreadsheet of all the hours I played cash games. But I forgot to take into account the month and a half or so in the summer that I played almost exclusively SNG's. Once I factored that in, I got the ~3000 hours, ~75 hours a week.
2. No, I don't think other poker players a lazy. But I do think many people have trouble being their own boss. From my observations it seems many people have difficulty motivating themselves, or putting the importance of the big picture into the forefront of their priorities and then making a detailed plan to execute it on a micro level.
3. Be honest with yourself. I've stressed the importance of planning, and people can't make a proper plan unless they're completely honest about their abilities and motivation. It's important to set goals that push you, but it's equally important to be realistic. But don't be afraid of failure.. as long as you pushed yourself day in and day out you will be proud of your accomplishments. Think about yourself a year from now looking back... would you feel regret if you set out for 3million VPP and only got 2.5 but could honestly say you stayed motivated and dedicated 90% of the way? Or what if you set out for 4mllion VPP, procrastinated and only got 1.5 and knew you could have done so much better. The answer is pretty clear, but sometimes we lose sight when we aren't honest in our planning.
4. You pretty much nailed it... cooking, cleaning, groceries, and laundry.
5. My best month of all time was when I didn't check results until the end of the month, but I've never tried that again.. go figure. As you know, checking results is more addicting than crack, but like crack... it's not so good for you. I try to make a rule that if I feel I HAVE to check, I wait until the end of the day. Also, I've been phasing out EV calcs in my reports/graphs.
6. I met her a few years ago at a New Years Eve party in Dallas. We spoke briefly after a friend introduced us. But being intoxicated, a little nervous, and not good at carrying conversations in a loud bar, the conversation didn't last all that long. Then (and I'm being completely honest), I had dreams about her every night (non-sexual) for a week straight after that night. I didn't know what to think really, I pretty much just thought 'wow, if this isn't some sort of divine intervention I don't know what is.. I need to contact this girl'. I didn't have her number, so I proceeded to stalk her on Facebook until she agreed to go on a date with me.
7. Yeah, I know that problem pretty well... I usually cheat a little by shifting my schedule a bit the next day. In your example I'd probably move my alarm to 9 or 10am to squeeze out another hour or two of sleep. I would wake up and get to grinding as quickly as possible. I would take a nap on one of my breaks if possible. And I would go to bed at the appropriate time that night so that I could get back to 8am schedule.

I don't table select at all.. but that is changing. I think it's important to table select to some degree, more importantly than choosing tables with fish I believe is choosing which regs are on your direct left and right.

I'm not sure of what my official best is for a 24 hour period, but in the span from Thursday, September 23rd to Friday, September 24th I put in 80k hands for 53k VPP.

Lol, I don't have an exact number but I'm sure I've put a few of their kids through college. I'm not a PokerStars Pro for good reason, until this year I haven't done anything exceptional on PokerStars other than earn Supernova Elite in 2009, which is hardly worthy of Team Pro in itself. However, this year after breaking the VPP record I did apply, and would gladly accept an offer, but I still don't know if the team will be interested in me. There is a lot that goes into Pro selections, much more than just being a rake generating machine I think. But with a little luck I may get selected... one time!!

All Lyme disease questions are welcome. I'm not an expert in the diagnosis/treatment of the disease (if I was I'd probably be better by now), but I know everything there is to know about the symptoms unfortunately. Ask away, and I'll answer the best I can.

The prognosis is one of the following...
1) Sending the disease into remission (there is no cure to date.)
2) A lifetime of pain/fatigue.
3) Death.

Ranking them I would choose 1 > 3 > 2. But unfortunately I'm stuck in 2 atm.. but nowhere near giving up on my chase for number 1.

No, I don't enjoy playing 14 hours a day. But I do enjoy setting a goal, sacrificing, and achieving success. It gives me pride, self worth, and in this case helps me provide for the ones I love. It's worth it.

Yes, I have for $5000. But I am going to lower the price significantly to make it available to more people. I haven't decided on a new price yet. This is due to it being wrapped up in coaching packages, but I will offer as a stand-alone purchase too (as much of it explained in detail in the guide). It's very in depth and contains every chart one would need, from 3bet shoving, 3bet calling, open shoving, calling of open shoves, etc. I will announce pricing later on this year or early next year.

I'm just now starting to experiment with Full Ring and I don't think I can accurately draw a conclusion and comment on the appropriate bankroll until I gain more experience with the variance involved.

Yes, there is clearly a correlation between time of treatment and severity of the disease. I wish I would have known I had it years ago. It's not bad at all if you catch it within the first month(s), before it has a chance to manifest itself in different ways within your lymphatic or neurological systems.

As stated earlier, I can't comment on full ring with great accuracy due to my lack of experience. I'm sure it's safe to say 5000 big blinds would be sufficient, even for a slightly losing player of -.5 to -1bb/100.. you should be able to survive any given downswing from milestone/fpp bonus to bonus.

i know you play 6max but what do you think a good vpip/vip for short stacking full ring?

The best way to answer this question is to find a highly successful full ring ss'er and study his statistics. There are several resources out there containing this information.

I play mostly rock music. From old to modern. From heavy to acoustic. Next year I'll have more free time and I'll likely post a couple videos/recordings in my blog for fun. One of the most unique things that I can do is beat box and play guitar at the same time. I've been beat boxing for a looong time. Occasionally I’ll sing a chorus and then beat box the verse. It always turns out well and I have a lot of fun doing it.

Is it necessary to play 24 tables 14 hours a day to achieve SNE?

Have you done any mathematical calculations to determine the optimal number of tables to play factoring in reduced win rate for every table added along with more FPP's for each added table.

Well, maybe, if you want to achieve SNE as a .25/.50 grinder.

I played that much at mid/high stakes because I set out to achieve SNE 4 times over in one calendar year (once every 3 months).. I was able to pull off 3xSNE in 10months, as oppose to the planned 9 months, and beat the all time record of 3mil VPP in a calendar year.

I posted a link to an article which pretty much explained this in detail in my original post, but links anger the mods and it looks like they removed it.

I want more than anything to be healthy again.. I'll do whatever it takes.

My girlfriend is an amazing woman, and I'm no doubt planning to propose to her someday soon. She's been by my side through everything. She understands how important this goal is to me and was willing to help in any way she could. To help with loneliness she'd spend many days sitting (or falling asleep) on the couch in my office just to be near me while I worked.

- Do you believe there's anything ethically wrong with buying in for 20BBs?
- Do you believe there's anything ethically wrong with leaving a table after doubling-up or winning a large pot?
- Do you believe the $$ you gain in the short term from coaching is worth the hit to your long term earnings that will result from your sharing of strategic information?
- If you didn't have to worry about $, how would you choose to spend your days?
- Do you think suicide is ever an ethically defensible action?
- Why do you think SSers receive so much hate from the poker community?
- Best SSers on Pokerstars?
