You need to earn 50k VPPs every month to maintain Supernova Elite status, missing no more than one month. You also need to earn 1M VPPs before the end of September or you will be downgraded to Supernova until you reach 1M for the year again.

I'm curious to know if you play live at all? Have you done large events like the WSOP ME and how have you done in them?

Porsche 918..

I play $1/2-$25/50 NL, mostly 6max. I dabble a bit in $60-$1000 6max SNG from time to time, still learning though.

If I say I can't choose one, then that doesn't look good on me as a man.. I've never been an advocate of infidelity. But then again, how does a man commit to only one for the rest of his life?? But if I had to say.. big Earl is just my flavor of the month, and I should go with Green cause she's always been there for me through sickness and in health.

I will try to do this later, last few times I've tried to run my database since January 1st (over 4million hands) it has crashed. Perhaps if I create a new database and import all the hands into it, then I will have some success. Either that or I can post a bunch of monthly giraffes.

I use a Steelcase Leap. It's nicer than the Aeron imo, has more adjustments available (I really like the arm adjustments/rotations/etc). I don't have any back problems.

1. Tile
2. I hired a scripting guru named Brian to script an ahk that won't allow me to sit at a table if it's been within an hour. However sometimes I turn the script off and sit anyway.
3. I use a keyboard and Trackman mouse.

There is no crying in poker. But there can be lots of anger unfortunately. I did smash a laptop and quit playing for a couple weeks after losing $210k in 3 days back in 2007.

Sure, I'd play them. Yeah, I don't see why I wouldn't play 24. If I could play unlimited tables I would play up to 36 at times. I have actually written a strategy guide that consists of a dozen pages or so. I give it to students for the monies.

I want great things for my life. But being ill and not being able to spend much time away from home due to the illness leaves you feeling depressed and worthless at times. Instead of sitting around and feeling sorry for myself, I decided to dedicate my year to something with some merit, something I could be proud of.. so I made the plan and stuck to it.

I didn't notice much of a change really for the majority of the year. However, it seems like most of the other ss'ing competition has gradually improved since earlier in the year.. but that is the nature of the game anyway, so I'm not sure if this has anything to do with the change in table limits or not.

No, I think they have all been interested in me dying quickly. We're all slowly dying, so to wish for me to slowly die from Lyme wouldn't be all that gratifying for them I wouldn't think.

What made you go for 3mil+ vpps? money? achievement? other?
I've tried both methods; play until I'm tired and play on a schedule. FTR I'm always tired, I think exhausted is the better term for my marathon sessions. I find that if I play until I'm exhausted I end up sleeping too long the next day or getting too sick to play coherently the following day. My sleep schedule gets crazy, and as a result hormone production gets out a whack. I've found that waking up around the same time every day and going to bed around the same time is the best idea for overall health and mental clarity.

I wanted to break the record because I made the plan in December '09, in my eyes it was achievable, and I wanted to prove to myself that I could do it. And yes, I like money.

1. I'm not sure what my yearly EV looks like, because as I mentioned the database keeps crashing but I'll get that working at some point. I do know, however, that I've run under EV for 8 of the last 10 months.

2. I try to get around 8 hours of sleep each night. Sometimes I get less because I can't fall back asleep, and a few times I've been too sick and have slept up to 20 hours without waking.

3. Haven't set a goal for next year yet. Too many things generally change throughout the year to make any solid plans before year end. I usually plan out goals in December, and then evaluate progress and potentially modify them in January.

I don't rathole much now as it is. When there are fish at the table I usually stay as long as I play my session. It's pretty -EV to leave when there is dead money at the table imo. So it's pretty safe to say I wouldn't rathole if games got even softer. I will admit I did a fair amount of ratholing when I was extremely tired this year (usually early in the morning or very late at night and I'm just trying my hardest to squeeze out VPP with as little impact to my bankroll as possible.)

Congrats and gl rest of the year!
Music. I'm a singer/songwriter/guitarist. I love playing solo, in a band, and recording. I've been playing guitar (and other instruments) most of my life and one of the reasons I first got into playing poker professionally was to have more free time to play music. Looks like I got a bit obsessive about poker though.. lol

I believe that's what it says for everyone that earns SNE. In order to maintain SNE you must continue to earn 50k VPP per month if you'd like to continue to extend your SNE status throughout the year.

Can you talk about how you got into poker and how it built into becoming the ultimate online grinder?
What are your plans with your poker career, any desire to play live or move up into the very high stakes/nosebleeds?
I live in Plano at the Shops of Legacy... I really enjoy this area.

I've been playing poker since I was 8 years old, but didn't discover Texas Hold'em until my junior year in college in 1999. I played online at pokerroom.com for free money for hours on end every night just to win pokerroom.com t-shirts! My screenname there was TheWizardOfAhhs, and I'd like to say I was one of the most successful t-shirt grinders ever, lol. After I graduated from college in 2001 I got a job as a Program Manager for HP and finally had a little money in the bank and was able to make my first real money deposit. And once I started to profit, then I realized there was some serious potential beyond a closet full of t-shirts.

I was never really the heavy grinder I am today until mid 2009. I had been playing very high/nose bleed stakes (mostly $25/50-$300/$600 full stack NL HU) for years and the swings were beginning to take a toll on me. I may have become more risk averse as I've grown older, I'm not sure. But I decided I wanted to try out playing many tables of mid stakes and earning SNE to smooth out the variance and see if I could still turn a nice profit. I decided SS'ing was probably the best option for this as I'd never played 24 tables at once and the impact of losing a 1/5 stack was much more appealing than losing a full stack. I enjoyed it thoroughly from the start and variance was so much lower, and my girlfriend noticed my stress meter drop from a 10 to a 2. So, to up the ante I decided to set out to break the VPP record in 2010, because that seemed like the next logical step. And here we are...

I haven't made any future plans as of yet.
