You said on some of your loss days you were losing $30k, and that's more than some people make in a year. I've been considering doing something of the similar nature but I'm just curious as to how much of a bankroll you needed to make sure that you were 'safe'.
To play the games I did last year I'd say you'd need 200k minimum to start, possibly more.

Hi Jorj...if you had to give a newbie advice on what all to do to reach the $109 turbos from low stake $33 SNG's.....then what would it be ?

Play something else besides sngs.

But if you really want to do this, just study icm a lot and read the sng forum and make sure you understand not just what to do in spots, but why you are doing it. The 109s and up are pretty tough now so you have to be a pretty good player just to break even at them. You may find that you can make more at the lower sngs, and if this is the case, there is no reason to move up.

Great well btw.

Quick question you may know the answer to. If I register to a "target tournament" then play a step6, and win, will stars give me $w? Can I then unreg for target tourney and get my cash back, and have the $w? Thanks

Yes if you are already registered you get w$ if you win another seat. No you cannot unregister.

I dont think I was clear. I meant, I would pre-register for the $10k tournament using cash from my stars account. I then would play the step6. If I win my first step6 I play, I assume $w would show in my account (since I have already pre-registered for $10k). I then want to unregister from tournament, I assume I then will get the cash back (since I bought in with cash) and also have $w form my step6 win. Hope that is clearer.

Basically looking for loophole so I dont have to playif i win.

I don't think it's possible to unregister. I understood your question the first time. Now if you win a SCOOP or WCOOP satellite with w$ you can unregister for those, but you can't unregister from live seats (as far as I know). Others might know more than me though.

Really great read. Love to hear about the SNG players. Question now. I've just thrown some money onto FTP and am grinding the $6 turbos (9 and 6 man). For the lower limits is FTP with RB better or is stars still the place to be. I'm only 6-8 tabling so no need to worry about mass tables.

I don't know what the rake structure is for the tournaments on stars and fulltilt at that level, but if they are the same, then fulltilt is definitely going to give you more money back per sng. If the rake amounts are different then you're almost certainly better off playing at the one with less rake. Of course the overriding factor is how good the games are at each site.

I'm doing Monte Carlo and I will be in Vegas for the entire WSOP. I'll probably add in a few more events after the WSOP but I'm not really sure what yet.

I'll be in Monte Carlo too. Maybe I'll meet you this time. Haven't seen you playing. Just taking a break?

Ya pm me while we're there that's probably the easiest way to get in touch since the phones obv won't work.

Ya I haven't been playing much lately...watching college hoops right now.

I only read the first 25 posts of your well, so I'm not sure if this has been covered already:

how is the sports betting climate different now than it was when it was more profitable?

Biggest factor: NeTeller doesn't exist in the US and there's no easy way to transfer money between books anymore.

2nd biggest factor: Half the books left the US anyway.

3rd biggest factor: Once you win a certain amount books don't usually want your action much anymore, and there's a very limited quantity of trustworthy books to use.

Basically I ran out of books that I trusted holding 6 figures of my money.

I doubt if I ever shortstack cash, it sounds incredibly boring to be honest.

I doubt your roi in these is that low. You and I have played 1117 hyper turbos together, I won't give your roi without your permission but I'll tell you that you've done quite a bit better. 1117 is quite a bit to small of a sample size to get a good idea of what the true roi is on hyper turbos, but I suspect your real roi in them isn't much lower than what you've done there. I'd probably make more money if you stopped playing them

I've been mostly playing the hyper satellites lately. I doubt if I can make as much per hour as I made in the sngs last year but I like the fact that I can start and end sessions basically within a few minutes instead of it taking 40 minutes or whatever for my last sng to end.

I haven't even looked at the high stakes sngs much recently but when I do it seems like there's not really much of anything even going. I'm really not even qualified to say anymore whether or not they're "reg-filled".

I tried to buy the delorean but it said it was sold out. So rigged. And seriously BTTF was pretty much my favorite movie ever as a kid. Only 6 more years until we have flying cars! I remember as a kid I couldn't wait until the year 2015 to see how real their depiction of the future would be.

1.) How do you deal with playing shorthanded when u table 20-24 tables. Do you have a hard time keeping up because of the blinds coming around so fast/playing more hands?

2.)when u multitable do you continually have 20-24 tables going? When you bust do you join another SNG or do you play them in batches (ie when ur done with first 20 u start another batch of 20)

3.)How do you handle distracts (bathroom breaks, food, phone, door, etc) when u multitable?

4.)Have you made a lot of stupid mistakes because of multitabling that cost you lots of money?

5.)How do you deal with taxes when deposit? Is it a PITA when u file trying to figure out how much u owe, income total, etc? Do you go to tax place to hlp u?

6.)Have you ever been audited by the IRS bc of your large bankroll and big checks you prolly have gotton etc.

1) When it's shorthanded you are generally in push/fold mode so you don't really have all that many decisions to make. Once you get used to it it's really not that difficult.

2) I join tables continuously.

3) For the bathroom I just take my laptop into the bathroom with me. For anything else I pretty much ignore it.

4) Yeah I've misclicked quite a few times. All I can hope to do is to do it as seldom as possible. I doubt I could ever end it completely.

5) I have a CPA to help me with taxes. It's really not as hard as it seems to keep track of everything.

6) No. *knock on wood* Seriously though I'm honest about what I make and I go through a CPA so I think my odds of getting audited are pretty low with how many poker players that I know of that either file an absurdly small amount of their income or don't file at all.
