Do you think it would be possible for someone starting at $16s in June to get to SNE? (If they are prepared to play full time). I am guessing they would have to make it up to mass tabling 60s and 114s to get there....?

hey this is Leoc00 here. Not sure if you remember but I think we played together quite a bit before. I just wanted to say that you are one of the nittiest yet successful regulars on stars (don't start steal/resteal super light on me now) What do you think of my play?

After cashing out a ton and going on a big downswing, I am starting to rebuild a roll in the 114/225's. Just read from above that you are starting to think high stakes sngs are unbeatable, do you think I should just give up sng and look elsewhere?

Sure it's possible but I doubt that many people who are playing 16s in June would have a positive roi mass tabling the 114s a few months later. Seems like a recipe for destruction to me.

You seemed like a good enough player from what I can remember. The thing is that once you're good at sngs there's really not much room to become better than the other people who are good, and right now there's a lot of good players.

I don't think they're completely unbeatable yet but it seems like most regs the last few months are either barely winning or are losing quite a bit. Maybe it will cycle to where enough regs drop out of the bigger games that they will become more beatable once again, but the thing is that even the worst regs in 2009 would probably have been big winners in the games in 2006. There just really isn't that much to be won in sngs anymore imo unless something changes drastically.

Do I think you should play something besides sngs? It really depends. Are you willing to take the time to learn something else where you will certainly be making less in the short run (or even losing) in return for more profit in the future? This is pretty much what I'm asking myself right now and I don't know what the answer is yet. My plan for now is to stay away from sngs for at least a little while (unless they run a surprise double vpp week or something), but plans can always change, and usually do for me.

I've thought about it but I don't know whether many people would find it all that interesting. I don't even think I would write about poker very much in it. It's not like reading about how sngs are going on a daily basis would be very enthralling. So I'd probably end up writing diatribes about political or cultural issues or whatever random thing is on my mind, but you can just go to the politics forum if you want to read about that.

Then again I didn't think I'd have much to talk about in my well either but once it started it was really easy to talk about everything. So who knows, maybe I'll start one soon and see how it goes.

Did you have a look on the SCOOP schedule? Do you think you'll do something there?

We're leaving on the 10th for Europe but I'll probably play most of the events before that.

Hey there, I've played a fair bit with you in the hyper turbos lately. My sn is bcblack. I'm new to sng's and working with sngwiz every day to get better. Anyways...

I'm starting to wonder if those hypers are really worth playing, even rake free. I seem to do much better in the normal turbo six mans, although only at low levels.

You obviously like them since you seem to be in every one i play every day lol. Mind sharing your roi?

Also, have you ever considering shortstacking cash? I've been doing that a bit too lately, and my work with the wiz has helped me to already make money doing it at 1/2, although i was already a winning fullstacker first.

I was like 4th in chips then got in a pot for over half my chips with ak vs qq and lost that, then a few minutes later I tried to get cute with aa by cold calling a raiser and got 2 more callers. The bb flopped a set, gg me. I'm fine with how I played it, just frustrating to never really have a big score in a tournament. Although I got lucky in a hand with about 200 ppl left with 55 vs kk where I spiked a 5 on the river in a hand I played pretty horribly, so I guess I should consider myself lucky in a way.

I don't really know my roi so far in the hypers but I'd guess it's like 2 or 3 pct. But most of all I just needed a change of pace from the regular sngs. I doubt I'll be playing them forever, but they are pretty fun to play I must admit. I played like 700 of them yesterday if you include the mtt ones.

I doubt if I ever shortstack cash, it sounds incredibly boring to be honest.

Yeah I agree standard shortstacking is mind-numbingly boring. I dunno how people do that for millions of hands. I've been doing kind of a different style, staying when I double up and playing pretty much any stack size I get up to. People still play really horrible against anything less than 100bb stacks at least at 1/2. The regs all assume you suck if you are sitting with like 88 or 133 or something random at a 1/2 game. Its kind of a fun way to mix it up, especially since i get bored with sng's pretty quick too.

The best is limping with all your good hands and watching the regs fight over who gets to isolate you lol.

Not sure if you're still responding to this thread Jorj95, but I'm just curious as to how much of a bankroll you had to have at your fingertips to be able to get the notion that you should overtake such a thing as that for a whole year. You said on some of your loss days you were losing $30k, and that's more than some people make in a year. I've been considering doing something of the similar nature but I'm just curious as to how much of a bankroll you needed to make sure that you were 'safe'.

This is a pretty good idea. Even if you don't want to fully shortstack, just buy in for like 83.50 or something silly at every table. If you're more familiar with the nuances of playing 40-45BB effective stacks than regs (and you will be a little practice), then there is probably plenty of value. I've heard even the regs in the NL cap games are pretty bad. This would be like playing with a cap vs. regs who have even less clue.
