Here's the list of skins having the new client as of now:

William Hill
Ladbrokes
bet365
Titan Poker
Coral
Paddy Power

There seem to be very few new features*, just it's more pleasant to the eye (has better decks in particular) and written in Qt instead of the archaic Java; most importantly, hopefully it's stabler in the future because its development and bug-fixing process is claimed to be faster than with the previous software provider.

* Such as the ability to unregister from a Twister after seeing one potential opponent in his/her exact seat relatively to Hero. The ability exists only if Hero is the first or second player to be sat in. It's useful pretty only at the €10 limit or at offpeak hours because otherwise games fill up too fast for Hero to react promptly.

A digression about PKR.com jackpots:

This is of course a very limited seat rejection ability in comparison with the freedom to reserve the seat and see the potential opponents in their exact seats without even buying in that exists in PKR's jackpot SnGs and has caused a backlash from recreationals on its forums. It might be a necessary evil for the sake of beatability of the $12 jackpots, though, as otherwise 2-minute blind levels on slower software are no good.
Another Twister / turbo SnG related improvement is that the 'act urgently' sound and focus steal (that can both be turned off) happen 5 seconds (out of 15) into the thinking time, not after 2 seconds (lolfail) like it is in the old client. Speaking of, the default sound theme in general is more pleasant in the new client.

New beta version is crashing on me CONSTANTLY!!!!

If I try to use the old version it is LAGGING sooooo badly, it is unplayable!

I still have 4 entries (iPOPS Main x2 & others) am only a micro rec. player & am tilting as I occassionally see my chips disappearing.

When I load up new beta, it sits me at two of my tables (takes forever!) but won't seat me in iPOPS Main.???

I watched my table as I continually missed soooooo many shove spots (AQs, AA, KK, AK, TT).. while sitting on 10-15bb stacks!

Thing is, I have dealt with WillHill support MANY times in the past & have always found them to be pathetic. THey are soooo f'n bad it is not worth the time & hassle to even speak with them (fwiw, they SUCK real bad at live events too... this is such a pathetically run site it is actually hard to fathom how poorly they handle stuff).

SO it has crashed again now, LOL. At least 20x now. Can you guess what their response will be?
No doubt it'll go like this "The problem is on your end blah blah blah... no problems here" (I experienced this before when they had that Lobby upgrade (few yrs. back) there was a HUGE glitch for some players (not all were affected) & it lasted for 6mos. Finallyl after 6mos. they admitted to me that there was a problem. Compensation was a joke.

Only good thing I can say about this site >> I won a free WSOP pkg. this summer in one of those allin pre freerolls. But do you think customer support had their **** together at WSOP? Of course not.... couple of ****'n UK loogans there for the booze (they didn't even know when one of their players was actually going deep'ish' & moving on to Day2 (< & that was ON DAY2 lol).
Stuff like > locking the doors on room where food was supposedly being supplied... meanwhile could hear them in there drinking it up. Did not even eat ONE sandwich in 7days.... but they'd said "Don't worry, we've got it covered. You don't want to be giving the casino/hotel any of your money for their food!" I did get one small bottle of bottled water from them... when I went down for a second one the following day, door was locked again... with voiced inside, LoL.

This was actually a perfect example of how WillHill treats their customers. They are too stup1d to even give a ****. It is no wonder they have fallen sooooo far behind Stars.

I think Playtech is more serious about troubleshooting this time, especially because the client is yet in the beta phase when a big flood of bug reports is expected anyway. So give it a chance - send the description of the bug and the relevant log files (located in <client folder>\data\logs) to the room's support. The more bug reports you submit, the sooner the beta client will become fully playable.

I hope you're right.

I can't 'give it a chance' because for me it is 'unplayable' (at least as far as thinking about playing in Tournaments). I tried to play some last weekend too & thought it'd be different this weekend (wtf was I thinking?).

I've had TERRIBLE experiences with customer support in the past. Doubt I'll be getting compensated for the time it took me today (while playing other tables/sites) after tilting my face off due to b.s. crashes) to chat with them on Live Chat support... and will be surprised if I even receive my entries back.

I'll play on there when it's fixed & not until then. Why should I be putting in my time (dealing with ****ty support & buggy software) so that they can benefit by it & fix it?? Wouldn't any other business just fix it first? (or at least compensate their customers for the b.s.).

By all means though, if you'll play & have it crash a couple dozen times, lose all your entries (again) and then send in your log reports so they can fix it.... fly at 'er.

Me. A lot of it, and whenever I show them screenshots or videos of it with everything else working fine, it is still my internet connection and no problems at their servers.

I play on ladbrokes be client, still old client.

Had some kind of update and client wouldn't start after those updates, got some errors(things missing).

Then i discovered that i had to install as administrator, and the client worked.

After that, i didn't get my PT to work, and everything was set up fine.

Then i discovered i also had to run client as administrator to make pt work fine.

So in case someone has problems with client, try this....

Yes! Read my posts above. This weekend was TERRIBLE!
I spoke with live chat support for 40mins. (they kept putting me on hold) & apparently my situation has been forwarded to the relevant dept. (lol). Yah,... ok,... I've heard this before from them.

This morning I received an email from them (WillHill) and at first thought, "Wow.. they actually are getting back to me prompltly" Then I opened & read it and it was regarding the Nov. deposit promo thingy. I responded to it, telling them I'll deposit once they refund me for the weekend crap. They answered & said my previous correspondence has already been sent to the relevant dept. and to please wait patiently.

fwiw, there were 33 people ahead of me who were waiting in line for the live chat support (I've never seen more than 3 or 4 in waiting before) which is a good indication that lots of people were having problems.

I refuse to ever let them tell me that it's a connection problem on my end.

I've included all the jackpots, especially because each of the top two multipliers is hit once in 20K games (and won once in 50K-55K games), which is only a few months of play for a grinder.

And getting them less often than average wouldn't have a big impact on the longterm ROI anyway - merely 1.67% of each BI is taken out for the top jackpot tier, plus 1.75% - for all the 20x-200x tiers combined. This is the key difference between Twister and MTTs where the final table luck accounts for a huge portion of the overall ROI. It's hardly possible to gather an MTT with 20K runners giving 800BIs to the winner on iPoker, whereas the jackpots can be set almost arbitrarily rare/large without a big field

I believe the main reason why top iPoker jackpots are merely 1K BIs is that it's a network and a lot of bank fees would be lost if winners' rooms had to take turns requesting funds from other rooms of the network to pay out the jackpot winnings; whereas, as it is, every room on the network can pay €10K out instantly by its own cash reserves and then recover it when reconciliation payments from its network partners go through.

(WPN is a network too, but there are way fewer (only 3, I think) independent cashiers there (skins are clustered in groups having the same cashier), and each of them has enough reserves to pay out $100K more or less promptly.)

Jackpots are excluded from calculations in other threads because 1) they're far less frequent at Stars / Winamax / WPN, 2) those people are too risk-averse

They are doing it each year, each IPOPS (with overlay...)

-2 years ago i was in that IPOPS ME that failed to meet gtd by a lot and then for 3-4 hours: kept getting 'paused due to tech issues', resumed, completely 'restarted' from scratch 1 or 2 times and then finally cancelled, when they in the end faced a debacle of too few buyins. After like, 4 hours of that. Last year i didnt play any but buddy msgd me -They did it again...

Since Sunday when I was told I'd be getting refunded on my MTT buyins.

Has anyone ever actually had even a halfway decent experience with customer support on WillHill before? God they are fk'n pathetic!!!! I'm pretty sure my 12yr. old nephew could double that site's revenues in a month ... if they'd invest even just a tiny bit of $'s into the ****ty software & maybe consider hiring a few people for customer support who weren't fired from McDonalds. They are ****** useless!

And yes... I'm waiting for their response... and know that their first attempt will be to tell me it is an internet connection issue on 'my' end, LoL.

If you look into the log files that the beta client produces, you'll discover that some of the function names contain misspelled English words, like HandleNotificationSynchonized or command_sequense (but another variable is spelled right - action_sequence).

It's easy to keep the notation unified, though, because if someone attempted to invoke 'command_sequence', the debugger would say that the variable isn't found.
