*** Unofficial Equity Poker Network Thread ***

EPN is launching real money Friday November 8th and I figured it would be good to have a centralized place to discuss the Skins, bonuses, support, deposit/payouts.

EPN Network founded by former BetOnline CEO Clive Archer.
http://www.equitypokernetwork.com/why-equity

EPN’s Clearing-House will hold enough funds to ensure that all Operators receive the funds due to them from other Operators on the network. The funds are held in separate accounts from the network’s operating funds, ensuring Operators against both network failure and other poker room’s failure. As a result players will benefit from a safer playing environment that is also exciting and fun.

- No Market Restrictions (USA Accepted)
- PC and MAC clients supported.
- Multi-lingual / Multi-Currency

Currently only two skins are officially listed:

If there's P2P xfers and rakeback comparable to intertops/WPN/swc then sign me up but I bet it will be like Bodog or Merge, nonexistent WC rb. Prove me wrong, though I'm not holding my breath.
Legit flat dealt RB one time? Who am I kidding...

Can't find any info on what method rake they use (dealt, weighted, etc). This is all I have found:

Quote:
we charge a small percentage of rake for every hand played. The rake is always a very small amount, and is capped. Our standard rake is 5%, with a general cap of $3. Please note that rake is not charged on tournament hands.

Quote:
EPN allows up to 50% rakeback

I found this part to be interesting:

Re: *** Unofficial Equity Poker Network Thread ***

It's easy game for a network to grab the U.S. market right now.

- Decent software
- Good rake and rewards program without gimmicks
- Fast cashouts for U.S. players with a BTC option
- good customer service
- P2P transfers without limits
- Solid MTT schedule
- Don't be a fraud
- Advertise

Currently, every U.S. facing site has a major flaw in at least one of the above areas.

Re: *** Unofficial Equity Poker Network Thread ***

So far so good with Equity. There's been a few new sites that have recently sprung up but Equity has stood out because they have put a lot of money into their freerolls in order to create a player pool before they even officially open for business. I've already won money on the site. I was also the bubbleboy in one of the Sunday tournaments which reminded me why I don't like tournaments.

The only thing that bothers me about Equity (as well as a number of other sites) is the inability to use Holdem Manager. For me its a security issue more than a need for a HUD. Ever since UB, I've been a little reluctant to assume that sites are governing themselves. But aside from that the software is OK and the player pool has been pretty soft. Equity's philosophy seems to be built around giving its skins the freedom to offer rakeback and promotions so I think that those will coming down the road soon.

Until real money is involved, you don't know how soft the games are. You lost a little credibility with that comment, IMO.

I think he's relating his experience in the $3k and $4k freerolls he won money in. Did you read his posts even, or do you just like to nit pick posters here?

While you can win money from freerolls, I would hardly classify them as real money games. Sounds like you are the nitpicker

That's really a monumentally dumb post. Their freerolls so far represent their entire current active player base. I'd say that's a pretty good part of their entire current player pool and certainly does represent the players who have so far signed on. I started my post by saying "So far so good with Equity". I was strictly speaking of my experiences so far and made absolutely no claim that their real money games are soft considering that there aren't any real money games yet for me to talk about. You should learn to read before you question someone's credibility.

Did anyone ever classify them as real money games? What's your point then?

You did indirectly...I was simply agreeing that there is zero way to know how soft a real money player pool is based on freerolls.

I didn't indirectly do that at all, but who cares. I think it's great though that there's a new American facing site opening that has enough start up $$$ to offer significant freerolls pre-opening. It shows a commitment. That can't be bad for Americans considering the options they presently have now. I hope they succeed and give a viable option to players. It won't be easy for sure.

No, it's monumentally dumb to say the player pool is soft from your experience in the freerolls. All freerolls are soft. They do represent the current player base, but obviously they won't be the same players I will be against at 50NL. At the very least they will be playing different when real money is invested. Any poker player knows this.

No. What you said was truly monumentally dumb. You are now just compounding it by saying something even monumentally dumber when by now you should know better.

These freerolls have been particularly soft. I've seen $50 freerolls played tougher than last week's $4k freeroll. There have been a lot of ROW players and a lot of players throwing away large stacks deep in the tournaments. I've made it deep in the money in large fields despite the fact that I'm not a tournament player.

I said that the pool "has been" soft. Do you know what the words "has been" even means? I never said that it will be soft when real money games start. My statement was completely in keeping with the "so far so good" theme of my post. I made it very clear that I was solely talking about my experience on the network thus far. There are absolutely no real money games on the Equity Network yet. I made absolutely no mention of real money games on the Equity Network. When you make an idiotic assertion that I've lost credibility because I was talking about real money games, you are just talking out of your ass.

Great, now that we agree that we are both monumentally stupid, we can move on. How's the software?

There is a freeroll for $1000 dollars starting up in 15min. In my opinion the software is so-so but I don't care as long as they pay out in a timely manner. They also look well funded which is confidence inspiring.

Re: *** Unofficial Equity Poker Network Thread ***

I have a few questions about this relationship to BetOnline and the Chico Network. I hope someone in the know can answer.

Was EPN started by the founder of BetOnline, which is on the Chico network?

How closely tied is EPN to Chico?

I'm sure they are separate companies, but is it the same founders and management?

Both BO and Chico have terrible reputations, so I would need more information before I deposit.
