How bad the problems are appears to really depend on your PC and internet connection. I routinely play 8 to 12 tables at a time for several hours almost every day. I rarely experience problems. This is while using my system for other things at the same time (e.g. 60, or so, windows open much of the time, but only 44 right now). I am playing while I write this.
I bought this system used off eBay more than a year ago (more info in earlier posts in this thread). Including the SSD and RAM upgrades, I could duplicate it for about $500 (excluding monitor). That is 1 buy-in at 2/5. That is less than I
have spent on a monthly basis for the gas to play live daily (not to mention the time it takes to get there and back).
Yes, their software
should be much better. The fact that it is not is costing them (and us) large amounts of money. It is ridiculous that they have not resolved most of the problems in the last several months. It should be designed to run on low-end, old hardware, and all the different OS combos out there. But, it just isn't.
As someone that cares about their poker play, you can make the choice to adapt to the existing conditions, just complain about them, or choose that you will play elsewhere. It is a choice that each of us has to make, keeping in mind the relative availability of the people from whom we get money in each venue, the convenience and cost of actually being at a table (live) or tables (online), and all the other things that contribute to an overall hourly rate.
