Unfortunate Milestone abuse at Pokerstars...

Whether you have an edge that is significant or not.. two people sitting at multiple heads up tables autofolding around milestone time is COLLUDING. I emailed stars about this yesterday and they don't care. Two people did that just now sitting at 5/10 nl and won $5500 and w/e the loser gets.

Re: Unfortunate Milestone abuse at Pokerstars...

It happened earlier at a pot limit omaha game. Clearly, heads up games should not be eligible to prevent exactly this kind of abuse.

If they don't fix this and hopefully strip the abusers of their prizes (this is clear collusion), I will be doing as many tables as I can for the 25 billion.

Re: Unfortunate Milestone abuse at Pokerstars...

I actually did win a legit (trust me it was legit or I wouldn't be posting this thread to begin with) HU milestone hand back in december or whenever so I hate to get rid of HU, but it really should be eliminated and esp those people prizes taken away. They violated the terms somewhere I am sure.

I said, whats to stop people from doing 24 tables of HU tables and that I should just try to do that fr 5 minutes, not that I would.. but still that is horrible to allow

Promos shaped like this one are dumb anyways. They are equivalent to begging for collusion.

With integrity being a big issue in online poker, I think sites should steer clear of promotions that provoke collusion. It just sets a horrible example.

Yeah, I'm probably exaggerating.

Re: Unfortunate Milestone abuse at Pokerstars...

Thank you for your email.

In order to be eligible for the milestone hand, each player must be
actively playing at the table. In order to be dealt into the hand you must
have at least played one set of blinds.

Folding many hands is a style of play and cannot be judged as fraud.
There is nothing wrong with playing in the hope of getting the milestone
bonus. That is half the fun!

I trust to have alleviated your concerns and thank you for choosing
PokerStars.

Pasquale

Here was the letter I got yesterday...

Thank you for contacting PokerStars.

Please note, this issue was addressed in our last promotion and the
official line was that it has minimal affect on who will actually win the
milestone hand.

Personally I think it is angle shooting and I will again bring this issue
up with management who will be able to provide you with more information.

Thank you for your patience, and for choosing PokerStars.

Regards,

Dean

Re: Unfortunate Milestone abuse at Pokerstars...

Well, I just penned an e-mail that's sure to get me doomswitched. But this is LOL retarded. I am disgusted at Pokerstars for handling this situation so poorly. It isn't even a big deal EV wise, but it is such an incredibly poor philosophy that they should be ashamed that it has happened before and still not been rectified.

The fact that Pokerstars can't recognize the situation where players join a heads up table to fold every hand as obvious collusion is extremely troubling and brings their competence into question.

Bring on the doomswitch.

Re: Unfortunate Milestone abuse at Pokerstars...

The funny thing is how stupid it is for them. If they simply require that a flop be seen in order for the prize to be won, then they get lots and lots more rake. So many ways they could have handled this better. At the same time, I don't really care. Overall, the promotion should be good for me because the players who win milestone money will probably donk it off over the coming month or so.

I saw this hand. The guy raises and the other guy just folds preflop. Seems kinda fishy but hey if Stars let's this go, time to 24 table HU.

I can't even get on 50NL HU tables to play because these idiots are sitting at all of them autofolding. This is a disgrace.

Re: Unfortunate Milestone abuse at Pokerstars...

There is no way to police this behavior or enforce that players cannot play in this way. During all of these "nth" hand promotions there have always been "teams" auto-folding every hand until the promotional hand is dealt. It borders ethics boundaries for sure but by playing out normal poker hands you put everyone else that angle-shoots the promotion at a large advantage.
