They're super busy with launch today. It took support about 5 hours to respond to my email today. A new poker site's opening day....you can expect delays and a lot of kinks and bugs to work out. Same thing with a big online video game launch...always some probs lol.

so yes, it's true, you need to be in nv, but if you live here they want id.

fwiw, vpn's are safe, 100%.

And I'd prove I could use vpn if I could actually login in again. lol.
I wouldn't do it. Somebody on the other op asked about p[laying on a vpn 'headquartered' in Nv., he uses it through work, and the reply was NO--we will catch you and you will be banned. Not worth the risk!!!

Ok, been playing a while. Games are ok. No wait list function... so you literally have to open up the tables and click as fast as you can when you see a player leave.

He's not saying they won't care. He's saying, that in theory, it's safe.

And it is. It's just like condoms. If you do it right, it's 100% safe.

Only betting slider, no quick bet buttons... getting used to typing in bet amounts. When it's my action, the table grabs all my keystrokes, like some old poker software from 2004. Couldn't find a way to turn it off.

Does not store hand histories. Can look it up in a clunky fashion.

Yeah, this software needs a complete redo, and fast. I feel like I am playing on a facebook app.

If these guys are allowed to set up 100% legal then why not Stars, since afaik they settled up with the DOJ?

And how soon are they going to open for business in California and other states?

Has anyone had any luck getting verified using TracFone?

Does anyone know if the phone you use has to be your own? Can it be a friend's phone? The first verification is that when you input your mobile number, you get a text and then you have to reply "YES" to that text. After that, they check on the phone's location somehow through the cell towers. What if your friend takes off and goes to Reno while you stay in Vegas? It's still Nevada. Does the phone you use for verification have to be nearby wherever your computer is?

I think the only 3 carriers working right now are Sprint, T-Mobile, and AT&T

I thought every poker room was "legal" in the U.S., it was just against the law for banks to process their transactions.

So if the UIGEA is still interpreted that way federally, wouldn't these state sites still be in violation of federal law if they process transactions through U.S. banks?

Someone bring me up to speed.

There are exceptions in the UIGEA for legal intrastate gaming. Sometime in late 2011, the DOJ released an opinion letter that the wire act only applies to sporting events and contests (AFAIK, this was the only act that suggested online gambling was illegal at the federal level). I believe this was taken as a green light for states to go ahead and legalize online poker without worrying about violating federal law. Since online poker is legal in those states, it is excluded from the UIGEA.

I think this is the basic gist of it, someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

The way I look at it is like how marijuana is. It is legal either recreational or medically in some states. However it still is against federal law unless you happen to be the few people who are still on the federal medical marijuana program.

But I don't think the UIGEA applies because the DOJ said poker did not right?
