That I have to go to support chat and then relay this message myself shows how poor their customer service is.

Re: UB client keylogging?

I'm not sure you guys are helping by posting that you are cashing out. 2+2 is not really the demographic they are after anyway.

This has to be a mistake/misinformation to their staff, but if they really are going this route this could be huge. Too bad I'll never put a dime on the site either way. So no more HUDS, bumhunting, etc? Wow, games will be pretty good. It's interesting to see if this will have any affect on other sites.

I'm glad to see people closing their accounts at least, even if it they should have done it a long time ago, and it takes this reason.

EDIT: My guess is this is a mistake, and was overlooked when they implemented this new security feature. You guys will probably get to keep your HUDS, don't worry.

I didn't have any money on there at all, but I did have the software installed and could move money there anytime I wanted, until now.

Re: UB client keylogging?

Got this replay from AP VIP Host.

----------------------------------------------------------------

You are now chatting with 'VIP Host'
VIP Host: This is ----- from VIP. How can I help you?

me: i have a question about your new keylogging feature after the last update

me: will i be allowed to continue playing on UB while using holdem manager

VIP Host: We implemented a new Security tool to ensure that we continue having a safe and secure environment which prohibits the use of any software or tool to calculate odds to be used along with AP/UB. However, we are in the process of determining which softwares will be allowed and which won’t and as usual, we have never supported any odds calculator

me: can you give a list of prohibited software please?

VIP Host: we don't have it yet

VIP Host: as soon as they are determines we will announce it

me: What happen if I use holdem manager ?
me: My account will be close?

VIP Host: No, you can use it if you wish

me: Ok , hope to receive information regardin prohibited software

VIP Host: we definitely will

me: ty
VIP Host: My pleasure

me: but other hosts have categorically stated that hem is banned
me: so, can i use it today?
VIP Host: yes you can use it. Nothing is banned yet
me: ok thanks
Thanks for posting this I was scared to play with HEM after reading this thread.

What it looks like is the guys who got accounts banned in beginning of thread all blocked the new update from working with their firewall, as long as you don't block it seems like it should be fine.

Re: UB client keylogging?

Well I'm glad you did cds. I'm not gonna lie and say I don't wish I could play a softer site, and it's a huge sacrifice, but I think it's the right thing to do.

You just can't support cheating, in any way. It's about integrity, and standing up for our game. it would be a huge failure if we were to ever support this site/network.

It's a selfless sacrifice, and I commend you sir.

By the way, I've been reading a lot about the scam, and Haley's blog has been exposing the most common misconception these days, that AP/UB are under different ownership/management. Don't be fooled guys. I'll try to link her blog in a bit. The 5 part series is called "just conjecturin'" Check it out guys, it's superb work. She used to work for pokernewsdaily, and is very adept at translating and researching all the court documents from the so call "sale" http://haleyspokerblog.blogspot.com/
Sorry, I don't know how to link right too it, but it's pretty recent, and she also has been working on Barry's hand histories from UB.

Re: UB client keylogging?

Here guy's, I'll do you a favor (if you promise to not play there anymore!) deal?

Official release from our Security Team:

Hello,

Thank you for choosing the Cereus Network.

As you may already know after our latest update some Internet Security Suites are identifying our game client and some of its features as a potential security risk. We would like to assure you that this is not the case and that the UB/AP game client is not trying to gather any sensitive information from your computer.

During our last software update several security features were enhanced, the main target of the update was to enhance our detection systems in the following areas:

• Unauthorized Software
• Bot detection
• Hacking Tools detection

We have had some issues with the update that we are currently investigating and hope to resolve soon.

Please rest assured that our only purpose is to protect players from malicious tools and services that can give other users an unfair advantage. We can not in any way gather sensitive information from your computer.

We appreciate all the customer feedback and help from the online community in this matter and will continue to inform our players on this issue via our website and blog.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us at PokerSecurity@UB.com.

Best Regards,
Security Team

Re: UB client keylogging?

Everyone is asking about HEM, but what about PT3? Does anyone know if PT3 is/will be allowed?

obv not.

Funny that UB seaks to ban tracking programs yet without them its quite possible the superuser scandal would have taken much longer to crack if at all.

I cannot tolerate the level of stupidity in this thread any longer

you would still be able to import the ****ing hands after your session

and thats IF they ban HEM/PT3

Pocket fives does not allow users to talk about the UB scandal and has banned accounts because of it.
