PokerStars are making a big mistake on not making Chiren online pro. Me and 1000's of other people joined PokerStars because of him. I just cant believe it.

He was planning on doing 1000000 hands over a month. pokerstars knew he was doing the challenge. They could have let him know beforehand that he would not get PS pro, i agree it kind of douchey on PS's part.

There are many players that would be qualified to be on Team Online. I like Chiren but I think if he isn't accepted this go-round its perfectly understandable. It wouldn't be very fair to pass up people like nutsinho, kingsofcards, or deldar182 for someone who's massively grinding micro-stakes.

If Chiren has some solid results in 2010 and moves up in stakes a step or two I think he'll have a much better shot at it. He's only come to the attention of the poker world recently, while there are many guys that are basically online legends that are due for their recognition.

It has exactly the same kind of marketing potential as boku his 0-100.000 challenge.

Are you for real?? You have probably the most famous internet celebrity in the world looking to join your team. A guy with about 300K subscribers on youtube and who has tons of videos with over 1 million views. The most famous player of an online game played by over 10 million people. Nevermind the fact that he is very entertaining and hilarious and has ALOT of personality.

And instead of considering this guy, you are going to put some random unknown pro on the team who no-one knows or cares about and will bring next to zero new players to pokerstars. That is just crazy. What kind of people are working in your marketing department that you would choose some random nobody pro over one a guy with Athene's ability to brings tens/hundreds of thousands of new signups to pokerstars.

One more thing to consider, no-one cares about the highstakes pros who get a deal, the average joe has very little connection with them, whereas Athene is just like the rest of us, a grinder trying to work his way up.

I've been playing poker for a good few years and I play on ipoker and used to play on party poker. A few days ago I downloaded and installed the pokerstars client for the first time purely to see athene playing.

I really think you should reconsider your decsion from a business point of view. Pokerstars turning down Athene is like EMI when they turned down the Beatles.
