So, what will change for high-level players? On 1 January 2016 we will review the system of rewards, to limit the motivation to play just for the sake of winning. VIP-prizes for the players, who first achieved the status of Supernova, will still be 28% invested rail. However, for those who earn more than 200,000 points VPP, it will set the maximum award of 30%. Awards VIP-players PlatinumStar status will be reduced by about 5%.
Finally, to recoup significant costs (including the high cost of transactions for deposits and withdrawals) on offer cash games with high stakes, players will no longer get points VPP in Pot Limit and No Limit with blinds of $ 5- $ 10 and up, the gaming mix 8 games - with blinds of $ 10- $ 20 and above, and in other fixed limit games - with blinds of $ 10- $ 15 and above.

For the past few years I knew that a serious cut back was going to happen. I thought a few months ago that SNE would get cut to 50% rb and more recently I figured maybe it would go down to as low as 40% but not 28%. That did shock me a bit.
This nonsense about players playing for competition and fun is nonsense and shouldn't even be said. Truly cringe worthy to read.
Will Pstars lose out with these changes? Hard to say... I expect a lot of "winning players" to move to other sites but that isn't such a bad thing for Pstars as then they'll get all the depositors money. But if too many regs leave then games might suffer to the point that recs aren't even happy.
wow are they for real!? they are acting like they don't want RB grinders now? wasn't the whole system build around that, at least in SNGs where the games are reg infested and the rake to high to be winning pre RB in the first place, so how about they lower the rake and we would stop being only ''reward'' players. I'll go from raking >450k in 2015 to raking at absolute most 50k next yr if this is true. My pre rb WR will probably skyrocket (considering I play about 50% 6reg 6max hyper games right now), PS will certainly lose out on a lot of money from a guy like me, and there will be many guys just like me I'm sure.

Only a recreational Player anymore but if you remove the big dream behind poker it will not survive imo. Even the bad Players do not just want to Play for fun, there are probably funnier games out there which you wanne Play for the sake of it.
Seems quite bad for the games in general, however we don't know how money saved will go. If they would go directly into Amaya's pocket well, that's certainly bad, but if it would be used for very good promotions could be helpful in the long run.
This is a good opportunity for other sites, PS is losing its reward appeal and other competitors could benefit from it

My thoughts were the same... I was expecting the SNE abolishment after FTP's VIP program revamp, but I was somewhat shocked by the extent of the SN reward cut.

How do they take money out of PS pockets? They are break even! BE players simply dont make (nor lose) money after RB. All they do is create rake.
edit: i guess you were talking about BE pre rackeback. yea those do win post RB. But now, most of those will stop playing. Ultimatly it seems like the situation will tend to be the same as it is today in something like 2-3 years. There will be winers and losers but at a much smaller scale, because most BE or slightly losing or slightly wining players that are on stars right now will stop playing. So there will allways be winers and losers, just much less. The hole player pool will just dramatically decrease thus aggravating other problems like game liquidity

But still more money goes out of the ecosystem with this 1M spins. How many regs do you need to take away 1M from the system? Even the rec will gamble some $ I don't think a guy who plays 5$ spins will gamble away 500k, most likely will cash out 900k and maybe leave 100k to play in the best scenario. Also there are a lot of these SNE RB grinders who were winners until 2 years ago and didn't adapt to the tables and they can still lose more than 100/200K before they decide to stop so this is money that goes back to the system while if you aply these changes right now they won't even try to still play on the tables.
'Breakeven' regs are net withdrawers, but they're better at boosting the traffic and convert recreationals' deposits into rake faster than good regs. I wonder why Stars make no distinction and don't punish breakeven regs less.
I'm still holding my fingers crossed for some kind of a Battle of the Planets (with 5 times bigger prizes so that winning regs are more eager to add tables and become breakeven as a result). Remember, there's already leaderboard functionality in the client, just it's rather useless unless and until there's real money on the line.
On the other hand, the hope is vain because the value of Full Tilt's Edge leaderboards was reduced dramatically during the VIP program revamp in August.
