Re: *Stars - UK May VIP Special Offer*

This is just a fantastic promotion by Stars and credit to them for having the balls to come out and test something like this.

To those throwing your rattle out of the pram and threatening to skip off to Full Tilt - where is the negative impact for you? The only negative impact I can see is that the supernova freerolls are going to be jam packed full in a couple of months time. Other than that, its only positives - the cash games are going to be jucier with players like me who dont play a lot of cash but suddenly decide to multi table to aim for sn. UK Players depositing and bringing new money into the poker economy to try and aim for sn and all the flashy stars that go with it. Not only that, stars are testing out what could be a fantastic opportunity not just for those of us in the Uk but for other countries too. This is going to have a hugely positive effect for those in the $10NL - $100NL bracket.

Stars has been offering regional promotions for a number of years now, so promotions that favour one region over another are nothing new and should be embraced by all because next time, it could be you. Again, well done Stars, you made my Friday. I hope Stars see beyond the haters and realise that they have performed a masterstroke in terms of bringing shiny new money into the poker economy.

Tough luck!

Re: *Stars - UK May VIP Special Offer*

I was always glad about this fair promotion politic from PS but this is really a big beat for all non UK-Players imo.
I am understanding that there are country specific promo´s but in such a huge amount, thats really really sick imo. I´m really unhappy and upset about that.

I don't know yet but Scottyy will hopefully post.
Stars getting heat because a bonus experiment is too good. The world never ceases to amaze me. Really not having a go at anyone, just never thought I'd ever see it.

Looks to me like you only need to earn 750 VPPs in May to get Platinum star.

Quote:
750-1199 VPP Upgraded to PlatinumStar
(usually requires 7,500 VPPs) PlatinumStar VIP benefits

I joined today and am at 500 VPPs. How many more do I need to make SN being part of this UK promo?

Re: *Stars - UK May VIP Special Offer*

funny, i didn't see any backlash from stars offering millions of dollars in WSOP freerolls to only US & Canada players...

i think people need to understand this: pokerstars owes you nothing. it's their money and they can do what they want with it. if you don't like it, then quit. please quit! there's just too many good players on pokerstars these days anyways. stars hasn't taken a penny away from anyone in north america, they've decided to show a little charity to the U.K. market. so what?

and maybe stars made this decision with the flip of a coin. ever consider that? maybe heads it was north america, tails it was the U.K... and it came up tails. that means it was equal equity for everybody. so basically this thread is full of people complaining about a bad beat.

Re: *Stars - UK May VIP Special Offer*

I understand all the hate, it is unfair that we've got such a great deal and I won't argue otherwise; but in terms of marketing it's going to be such a success. Loads of people like me who don't play much at all will be busting our balls this month to try and get the FPPs and seeing as the 1200 target isn't really achievable at the very micro stakes we're all going to have to start off at around the 25NL level which would be higher than where I would have chosen to start playing. So there's going to be loads more fish around not really caring about how much they lose as they try to get the FPPs, so I guess there is a silver lining for you guys.

On a sidenote, are the VIP status accumalative throughout the month, so say I get silver star today, do I upgrade to silver star instantly, gaining the FPP multiplier straightaway?
