I think that is going to be true in most cases. I know I certainly wouldn't quit if they lowered the maximum to 50bb

In the short term though I think some will change sites and continue with their SSing.

This is true but also offset by the fact that fish lose money slower which increases the house's take. You have to consider the rake from people other than the shortstackers.

Rake per hand and consequently rakeback on Full Tilt Poker now that Short Stacks must buy in

I just looked at my stats in HM and I paid 44% more rake per hand than I did last week before the buyin change. I love the change and I am assuming its because there are now more multi-way pots and hands that see flops etc. Did anyone else notice a change and have thoughts on the reason for increased rake? Also could you post the amount of increased rake you paid. Thanks!

Subject: Reaction to the latest FTP changes

Good afternoon.
I would like to express extreme discontent with the latest innovations in your room, namely the increase of the minimum buy-in in cash games. By doing this you effectively get rid of all players who prefer to play with minimum buy-in using the SSS (short-stack strategy). I'm distressed that FTP has decided to resort to such measures. Until recently I have liked your pokerroom, your excellent software, notes system, search filters, a set of additional options for playing comfortably... And in no way did I expect FTP to give me a boot.
I am also exasperated that at the moment you have blocked the possibility of making a cash out. In my opinion such action strongly discredits FTP, which I viewed as responsible, reliable pokerroom in which I could keep my money. Presently, on Poker Strategy (which I'm a member of), there is a lively discussion in the forum concerning latest changes, and the majority of SSS players are inclined to leave FTP.
In view of what I wrote above, I intend to cash out my bankroll ($500) before 1/29/2010.
I also would like you to take into account that since today you'll be missing my share of rake, which is $30/day ($900/month). I intend to play in a pokerroom that does not discriminate players based on the size of the stack they sit down to play with."

I have a request for those who are also going to send FTP a letter to make a post here with your cash out amount and daily rake amount. If a substantial amount is accumulated (and I'm sure it will be) I will make a post at the FTP forum with all the numbers (how much less in rake they are going to earn starting from the next week)."
I heard FTP recently made an order of 100 paper shredders. Expect them to give your letter the attention it deserves

Since you made this post, Full Tilt has added antes to their Rush Poker games. This inflates the starting pot so the SSers can buy in for 40BB, but in actuality have an approximately 20BB effective stack. The SSers can take their 20BB pushing tables and use them in anted Rush Poker with little or no adjustments.

Let's see if they figure this out and come back to Full Tilt Poker.

Okay: I did the calculations and will now post them in the proper thread.

I don't like smart-ass replies, but this one motivated me to do the work.

You're welcome, SSers.

I wouldn't be a bit surprised to see a bunch of the most vocal full stack critics of shortstackers flocking to the shallow 20-40 bb tables since the VPIPs are higher.

They complained about the shortstacks at the 20bb minimum tables when they could have been playing at the 50bb minimum tables. Just wait. As soon as they see they aren't winning more after the short stacks are gone they will need another excuse for why they don't win or win more. And off to chase the fish at the shallow tables they will go.

And then they will probably STILL come here and complain about the shortstacks at the shallow tables.

Just watch.
they are growing...at least at 2nl
