And given this is a thread about SWC - please any lurkers understand this has nothing to do with SWC.

I am just wanting to help others like me who are wanting to join the room. Still looking forward to playing!

Wow I thought they actually got hacked. Crazy that somebody at the ISP ****ed up that bad.

Yea definitely, your criticism is totally justified. Unfortunately no matter how technology advances, "social engineering" will always be an option for hacking. Really they should have been using two factor authentication the entire time... Surprised about how careless some of these tech savvy startup guys can be.

I recently started playing on Seals and am really loving it so far. The action is awesome and the community is great. You can initiate staking and buy shares of people all through a bot in the lobby chat, awesome! Really hoping more people will give this a shot because I doubt they will leave after they try it.

Some trend people are thinking this is a huge bubble about to burst..man just hold tight because if it is, once that bubble pops, you will be able to buy in super cheap.

I don't know if this has been posted yet but it sounds like bitcoins aren't going to continue to be as anonymous as they have been. I'm not sure what this means. I'm wondering if people are going to have to start paying taxes on bitcoins.

Mr. Doomsday...you cannot use technical analysis on the bitcoin as there are not enough peak and valleys...it will come down...but nobody knows when, it could go a lot higher before a correction Mr. Doomsday. Trend people don't know anything, nobody knows. You wishing for it makes not difference.

This doesn't change anything with anonymity in Bitcoins. The weak spot in Bitcoin anonymity has always been in the exchange with fiat (USD/Euro/etc) and this doesn't change that.

As to tax requirements, you've already been on the hook as a US citizen to pay taxes on income or capital gains made in any currency or barter system, Bitcoin included.

I love how I am getting this rep on here as a FUD poster, Mr. Doomsday now, etc etc.

All I am point out is that BTC already hit a bubble..now we see the price going through the roof..is it overvalued? I think so and so do quite a bit of other people, does that mean it's true? No, and I didn't say that.

Why do people constantly look at BTC differently than they do stocks? When stocks are overvalued, you can expect the price will drop.

Example : Look at Kodak's (EKDKQ) price yesterday and now look at what happened today. Was it overvalued yesterday, oh **** yeah.

Because bitcoins are not stock Mr. Doomsday, duh???? A stock reflects future earnings of a company, if they change the price changes Mr. Doomsday..You get it, this is different. And it is also different than a currency that has a central bank that controls monetary policy changing interest rates, Mr. Doomsday.....NOBODY KNOWS, IT'S A NEW ANIMAL.
03-20-2013 , 01:27 PM
Well stated dead serious.

I think the stock analogy is a bit poor. Stocks' intrisnic value is based on the anticipated future cash flows generated by the enterprise. Bitcoin's value is based purely on supply and demand. The supply we know is fixed, so the question is the demand. I definitely agree that there is a good chance that this is a bubble, but it might also just be a sign that more people are learning about bitcoin and realizing it holds many of the attributes that they are seeking in a currency / asset to store value.

I should have been more clear.

Why do people constantly look at BTC different than stocks when it comes to Overvaluing?

BTC can be overvalued just as a stock can.

Sure, some will say that BTC cannot be overvalued or even undervalued.

We're going to start calling you Elmer.

BTW, "hi" to the 2p2'er who sat me at HUNL last night b4 leaving for a HUPLO game. I'm usually more friendly but I had a half stacking weirdo overbetting like mad on another table so I was a little distracted. Sorry I didn't catch your SN.

Update - bitinstant finally followed up. Unfortunately, I was not priced in - as this was a transfer to MtGox, not a direct coin purchase, so the delay cost me ~$50 on top of their fees. (due to bitcoin appreciation during the 2 days)

So, money was not stolen, but I still STRONGLY recommend against bitinstant. 2 day delay is far from instant. However, the big sin - Customer service with a "dead line" when dealing with money is 100% unacceptable IMO.

See you guys on Seals tonight!

Try CoinBase. Wait time is about a week, but I enjoy it. Just have to time it right.
