Scared to play online poker for 2+ years... Scared to play online poker for 2+ years...

This is mainly from the fact that after 8+ years playing on one very credible network one day decided to transfer my funds to another (cake network, wincake) and ever since I could not get a single withdrawal for 2+ years. Total funds held against my will are over $4,000 and my country won't do anything, and it's up to me to seek justice in my own way to anyone involved in this scheme.

Anyways, back on topic because of this and more importantly after trying another network (ipoker) over the years I came to conclude online softwares now are more "rigged" and sophisticated than they used to be from 2004 - 2011

I'm also worried now that anyone can do this and choose not to cash out my $ without any consequences (they just change skin/company name, website and repeat same) so I wouldn't hold more than $1000 at any skin. What I'm trying to ask this community is what are my best options in terms of high promotions from start and safe, secure and fair poker environment with decent traffic to start my online poker experience again? I live in Canada by the way.

I'm also aware many here are affiliates for years with some of these rigged softwares/networks on this site, but still hopefully I get large enough response from actual players rather than these affiliates, who are only interested in $ over giving me the best, most genuine info in this matter.

If I felt that way, I simply wouldn't play on any site.

This was clearly not a "very credible network".

Agreed. Honestly, just don't play online poker if you believe all that.

PokerStars, 888, PartyPoker, & iPoker are all reputable sites.

Yes, clearly the only change since the 2004-2011 era of online poker has been increased rigging of software, not anything else more likely to explain why you've apparently had difficulty since then.

I also have noticed steady decline in the online poker activity over the years. There are too many things that are working against us the players. Anyways, back on topic, after the first half of this year I'm literally scared to play online poker. I've lost complete trust in both keeping high sums to any skin as well as playing on networks like cake network/ipoker. Ipoker cashed out my funds within less than 24 hours, but I dont trust their software. Also, the fact most are operating from some islands with their own jurisdiction, makes me believe they can basically do whatever without any precations, at least not from the places we live.

But, the questions remains are there are any profitable players out there who make a living out of online poker? I want to hear about your stories. Where do you play, more importantly how do you go by determing which is a good place to play (there are lots of skins out there offering great rakebacks/promos, but they may be shady). I also do not trust to a lot of posters, especially in a place like this where it's heaven for all the affiliates and what not to keep biased/fake reviews or stories about their networks to lure revenue there, but non the less, I'm sure there will be one or two honest testimonials around here.

I've been playing online poker since 2004 and been playing for a decade on and off. So, in case anyone is curious how things are in the online poker, these are some of the most notable things I recall from my experience.

Started at ongame network, was very profitable after trying my best at the lower limits. Few years later one night I recall how bad beat after bad beat kept happening on the very high limits. So, I just wanted to retire poker for good and went heads up on the highest limit with $10,000 deposit.

I had K10 and after just few hands on the flop came something like 4 6 10 and only cuz I was so furious I reraised this individual who bet on the flop. I reraised, he reraised, I kept reraising and reraising. There wasn't any flush draw or anything....And we went all in, I had $8250 total...Do you know what he had??? 10A. He just decided to drop $8,500 like that too? Why would he only after 1-2 hands, unless he knew I had K10?

This is just one good example that even the most prominent networks like ongame then was criminalized and rigged. In fact, not too long ago the skin that was part of ongame I played for years one day simply just decided to be bought by cake network (now wincake) and transfer all my funds there, only to never allow me to withdraw them afterwards and still until today.

I moved to ipoker in between and things became worse in 2012+ in the online market. These shady sites that offer these big promotions, usually operating from those islands....are in fact rigging the software. To a newer player this might not be much concerning or seem convincing, but for someone with a decade of very active online poker experience I can tell the difference if the software has a system to set up the outcome or not.

So, if I could find a network today that is "SAFE" I would gladly be part of, but that is highly unlikely. Oh and avoid keeping more funds than $2,000 in any network since they can without problem hold your funds for indefinite time because there is no law effective to go after them. It only comes down to you. If you are depositing any funds, think of it as "donating".

What did your country say?

The Cake Network is originally from Canada and there was legal action against them as well.

Possibilities to go after criminal online gambling operators exist, but they are time consuming and costly, so I had recommend a legal expenses insurance.

OP, if you want to rant about rigged sites again, you know where the thread is for that:

http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/28...dition-255990/

If you want real advice about where to play, there's also a thread for that:

http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/28...+should+i+play

But no one needs the diatribe at the beginning of your post to be able to help you.

Honestly though, I think it's probably a waste of your time with your current mindset. It seems apparent that you have your mind made up about sites being rigged, and if anyone recommends one of them to you, they must be an affiliate. I'd say you need to work on your game before jumping in to any site in a big way. If you can look back on that K-T hand of yours you posted about in the rigged thread, and still feel the same way now as you did then, you shouldn't even be playing.
