Re: Ring game VPPs awarding change

I don't like the proposed changes. IF you are to implement this, just do it from 1st Jan 2010, that way you don't screw over the FR regs who've been working to a scheduele for the last 6 months.

I'll do this for you for $25.

Re: Ring game VPPs awarding change

Let's see if I have my head wrapped around this....

old system:
small stakes
6 or 9 vpp/table at .40 (1 per player)

New system
2 vpp per table at .40 (.33 for 6m/player and .22 FR/player)

if we estimate that a vpp= 1.5 fpp around the table and fpp = $0.016, than the new system saves them 4 or 7 vpp @ $0.40 or between $0.09 and $0.16 per hand raked at $0.40

Re: Ring game VPPs awarding change

I support these changes, but I agree something like 6VPPs would be better as Stars rewards are falling behind.

The only thing that would be unfair would be switching mid year. Lots of us (more than a hand full) have planned and played for 6 months based on the current system. If this had been implemented at the beginning of the year we could have chosen to increase our hours by 25% or chosen a different path. I am all for increasing the benefits to 6-max and HU players but cutting benefits to FR players mid-year doesn't seem right.

this is 6 max PLO right?

also im in favour of the new system, would still much prefer a contributed rake system.

i dont know if this is possible but could stars give players the choice of which system they want to finish out the year on then switch everyone to the new system next year?

Re: Ring game VPPs awarding change

I'm a 1/2 6-max limit regular. I've played that game for a couple years now and have been getting Supernova x1.5-2 every year. I've played almost exclusively at Stars and I'm not sure where my volume ranks among 1/2 players, but I'm guessing it's pretty high. This really sucks for my limit according to my calculations and others have confirmed. I'll have to play some and figure out my new VPP/hand before I decide what to do. I'm now reconsidering my options for new sites. At the very least I plan on spreading my roll over multiple sites now. I guess I was getting more than my fair share (even though I was paying 3.3BB/100 in rake) if the new system is making me lose 25% of my rakeback. That's a considerable amount of money lost relative to my stakes considering the volume I put in. If the difference turns out to be not as big as I though then I'll stay. Maybe the 1/2 players will be happy though to see less of me around.

Re: Ring game VPPs awarding change

I apologize if this has been answered already, but as a LAG in FR, will this affect me as much as I'm reading? This is mainly a huge problem for the TAGs that are FPP pros correct?

Because of this, I do not see Stars waiting 6 more months. With some minor tweaking possible, I expect it to go into effect on July 1, 2009. I don't think they want to listen to 6 months of complaining from players who are not going to benefit from the changes.

I agree with Belok earlier in this thread.

Full Tilt needs to jump all over this.

Re: Ring game VPPs awarding change

I think this is a very bad move on Stars part. Yes I am a micro/small stakes FR grinder and we already pay a higher rake % vs stakes (~$2.50 per $50 pot compaired to capped $3.00 for $100 pots) than anyone else anyways and now you are going to further cut down our rakeback.....this is not right.

Not to mention if legislation does pass and the international sites open back up and welcome US players, you will take a gigantic hit with this new system Stars.
