As a full ring limit grinder 2-4 to 3-6 I don't know if i can play winning poker SH. If these changes to 6X don't come with some added perks...such as more FPP per hand at the 500k level or some discounts on LIVE tourneys for FPP buy ins...I don't know if i can continue doing this for a living...and if I don't do this for a living I'd be more than happy to never see a limit game again....very boring life and game IMO. I suggested that they need to create a CASH winners leaderboard for each week and at the 4 levels much like they have for the SNG'S. This would keep the high volume players from leaving as they are more likely to win this then a recreational player...and what's a few thousand a week to Poker Stars when they are saving way more than that on the way less vpp's that they are giving out to the hundred or so regs at
1-2 to 3-6 FR limit holdem players.

Yeah I forgot the SNG players have the extra "rakeback" in the form of the BOP promotion. Reducing cash rakeback to the same as SNG rakeback just isn't fair. What isn't broke dont fix.

The only thing they needed to change was games below .10/.25 PL, NL.
and under .50/1. Limit games
at those limits and above seem to have been fine and happy.
Below those limits was total BS. Especially for limit where you could play all day and not get 1 VPP because the table limit for rake was not enough for a VPP.

Sorry if I missed it somewhere...was there an outcome for this thread or has decision not been made yet?

How about this as a way to increase profits? Make sure that come December no player sees a decrease in FPPs awarded and pay for it by getting rid of all the employees who work at the store or who work on silly promotions.

Gotta say I hope the playerbase asking you not to change it convinces stars. You are a profitable company and making money off of your SNE chasers. If you change this too much and a lot of them quit you are likely to rake less money even if it's at a greater % per person when the mega grinders leave. I hope to chase SNE next year but may not be able to depending on what changes are made.

i just hope the freeroll thing peaces out. i'll be supernova soon and the last thing in the world I want is to have my saturday's priced into playing donkaments regardless each weekend. how annoying. let me play when I want to please. take the money and run stars and give it back, if you feel kind enough by doing a 6x VPP program or an 'opt-out' alternative where maybe you can get 3/4 MTT equity or something.

What does this do for lhe 6max? Any point in moving to stars from ftp to play 3/6 and 5/10th lhe.

can you give a "before and after" estimate for 6max LHE for 1/2, 2/4, 3/6 and 5/T? thanks in advance.

according to HEM, i have played 3091 hands of 6max LHE this month. and i have earned 1195 vpp over those hands.

also, according to HEM, i have payed $178.82 in rake over those hands. so, if i multiply that by 5x... then i would get only 894 vpp under the new system?

am i doing this correctly? if not, then what do i do instead. if so, then this is a 25% decrease in vpp/hand in the new system.

In my experience:

micros - good for micros since you barely got any VPP before. 0.25/0.5 is about 0.1VPP/hand now.

small stakes - not good. Stars is effectively increasing the rake on us here. 1/2 6-max is losing about 0.1VPP/hand, which is quite a bit. 2/4 loses a little bit, but not as much as 1/2. 3/6 seems to be more or less the same.

mid-high stakes - all good. 5/10 gets an extra 0.1VPP/hand and I think it only gets better above that.

In other news, 5/10 flooded with tags in January. Yum!

Meh, if they implement 6x VPP, they should do it for every game. All the LHE grinders are saying that the majority of their living is off of rakeback; I don't think I need to point out the flaw in that career plan. Just make it 5x, 6x, or whatever across the board.

Stars doesn't exist to make you profit. You pay a certain amount of rake and you get VPP accordingly. They shouldn't change their system because the old loop VPP system favored LHE and is being corrected.

BTW, I'm all for 6x VPP, if it applies to every game.
