Remote Access Non-Us Pokerstars Account

Has anybody thought of this idea? It seems to me one could remotely access a foreign computer and use their seldom used account to play online poker in the U.S. Maybe a % fee of profits or poker coaching could be used in exchange. Maybe the foreign user would let you play at night while they are sleeping. Any other thoughts?

I just was posting the idea in other threads. You can buy your own dedicated servers from non-US hosting companies and play from those computers by remote desktoping into them.

This was the top example when I googled it, im sure there are much cheaper monthly plans out there:

http://www.canadianwebhosting.com/dedicated_hosting.asp

You'd want dedicated so it'd be tougher for somebody to snoop on your account as compared to a virtual server. If you dont think that'd be an issue, virtual server would be cheaper.

Maybe the foreign player has an extra computer and would create an additional account for a profit percentage. Any foreign players interested in doing this?

How would you get a Canadian bank account or get your money? In the Remote access scenario one would have to trust the person to deposit the cashout into their account and send you a check. They would have incentive to do this to have the chance of making an extra profit. Maybe they just take your money, but then they would lose out on future profit.

You guys are idiots. You realize Stars reads these forums, right?

And, oh yeah, if you get caught then Stars can keep all your money. Pretty risky even if you take every precaution. And "every precaution" would typically involve NOT revealing your genius plan publicly as well as directly to the people whose job it is to catch you trying to cheat on their site.

well i'd bet offshore bank accounts arent that hard to come by, If canadian bank accounts to get online try Cayman or Swiss banks.

How is this cheating the poker sites. They clearly want US players on their sites.

How is it cheating... Stars shouldn't care. The intent is not to cheat, it is to be able to play... Stars only obligation is keep US accounts out.. Why should they care about this... I wouldn't call it cheating, right?

Wow.

Ummm, because you are blatantly breaking their rules. This isn't hard to figure out...but evidently for some it actually is.

Remote VM I don't believe would work. From what I understand routing through a non-US proxy didn't do the trick, so doubt a remote VM/machine would either.

Perhaps a non-US account is needed....

Do you think this is some big secret underground idea? Pokerstars security is well aware of this simple idea. I don't think anybody is letting the cat out of the bag. One would have to post the both account user names for them to have anything more than a common idea.

Lol. People are still in the denial and bargaining phase apparently. Lost count of how many threads like this I have seen. Always amusing though.

Zecko - I don't understand at all what you are saying. Who is in denial or bargaining? What about the post you quoted had anything to do with denial or bargaining.

I think we've all thought about it. I know I did when I lost my partypoker. It seems more reasonable to just find another place to play.

When a person finds out they are going to die or receives unpleasant news the phases they often go through are denial and bargaining. Why would anyone set up a foreign acct knowing that if they get caught would lose all the funds? If a person is smart enough to think of something as elaborate as setting up a foreign account then I am sure they are smart enough to realize the reward dosen't outweigh the risk of getting caught.

Black friday happened it sucks, but it is what it is. Have to move on.
