The "Comical Hands on Lock" Thread The "Comical Hands on Lock" Thread

Recently I've been encountering some sick hands on Lock and from what I heard from people like Nutz or Mac ridiculous plays have somewhat become the norm.

So I've set myself a new filter in HoldemManager called "Lock Comical" to tag hilarious plays and ridiculous calls. I tag them with comical cause they don't even qualify as suckouts or "bad calls". Please don't confuse this thread with the "the great online poker is rigged" thread.

Let's see what we can come up with and please add a quick intro about the hand. Guess I'll start.

$15 / 750 GTD Deepstack - 8 before the money.
Pretty decent tournament for the most of it and all of a sudden the guy to my right wakes up and decides to start min-raising every other hand and stabbing at the blinds. He's in the SB again, comes out for a min-raise so I jam.

Dealer: Seat 9

syzygy69: posts ante of 60

Finn Dog: posts ante of 60
Mr. Tommy: posts ante of 60
KAINULAINEN: posts ante of 60

Dealt to HammerMan72 [8d,Kc]

KAINULAINEN: folds
Player2: raises to 1.200

Oh that's nothing...hahaha. I could tell you some stories. It's actually gotten to the point for me that I actually hope to be behind when all-in pre-flop. The amount of sick beats I've seen in the past two weeks playing hyper-turbo SNG's and regular tournaments are indeed comical. Any time I see AK or AQ, or any ace against an ace with a weaker kicker, I just wait for it, and sure enough...more often than not lately, the weaker kicker hits.

Variance...gotta love it. Revolution's version sure gives the term "roller coaster" a new name. I'll have to do some screen grabs or something...if nothing else, it is some light entertainment.

This **** happens on every site and every poker room in the world (probably), not exclusive to lock poker..

I'm aware of that but this thread is exclusive to Lock poker and it's NOT part of the great "online poker is rigged" talk but just for fun and to post some "comical hands" since I have no other word for those.

Where the heck do those people take the equity from to make that call. Sure wasn't the table image and he sure still had enough chips behind him to make an easy fold there.

Yeah pure entertainment. we got enough serious threads in this sub-forum. Some of those plays just make me laugh and the wife goes like "how can you laugh about this. That guy just busted you"

Me: "I don't know what else to do but laugh when I see this."

^^ For sure. It's part of the game. But for some reason, it does seem to happen with more comical timing on Revolution than other skins/networks I've played. To be sure, my volume isn't quite the levels of a lot of folks on 2+2. But I can't tell you how many times I'll get railed on the bubble from weaker aces...you just got to laugh to keep from crying.

That's really the only reason I play on Lock. I don't go out, I work in my studio/room all day...so when I want a little slapstick, I just pull up the ol' Lock box. Run to the P2P thread if I'm out, toss down $20 or less, grab a handful of play money and roll the dice. Cheaper than a date, or going out to eat. Sad it's got to this point, but you can't really take much seriously here right now. I mean, for serious players, you either wait for a cashout that might come in a couple 3 months, or might not - or, trade your winnings off at a 60% loss.

Anywho...

If you use any sort of tracker (HM2 / PT4) set a new tag for those hands and share some. I'd love to see them.

I love this one with the guy coming over the top on the flop.

^^ Those aren't all that bad. A turned 10 for trips isn't all that uncommon. Let's see some of those runner runner straights beating flopped sets. You know, 58 calling your AA down on a A-4-K flop and hitting 2 and 3 for teh nutz.

:P

LOL, you stole my post.

This was on Merge, but I had a guy call my 4bet OTT with K high no draw on an A high draw heavy board (don't remember the specifics). This was deep in the $35K for about 45bbs lol. I looked at my buddy like "wtf just happened?" His only reply was "Christmas bro, Christmas." and then passed me the bong.

Somewhat related, but not really...goes to what I've been doing lately for "entertainment".

Those last 75 games or so have been in the past couple three weeks. That is the definition of a man without a plan...lol. Flatlining on my graph!

EDIT: I should have highlighted the relevant portion there - I meant to show the flatline after having played a ton of SNG's lately mostly for fun (where some of the beats I've talked about with Hammer came into play). I know I haven't played thousands of games...so I don't get the "lol", but...all good.

That isn't even slightly related to this thread subject. And lol at breaking even for 100 games. Break even for a few thousand and report back.

Exactly. Some players are probably by now treating their Lock dollars as nothing but play money.
