Public service announcement: possible attempt by scammers to get FTP login information (x-post) Public service announcement: possible attempt by scammers to get FTP login information (x-post)

Another poster (ty, Zuran) alerted me to a possible scam. He received an email linking to this "site" because he had a "new private message". Obviously the navigation menu doesnt work, all you can do is provide your username and password. And for the people that dont use FTP forums and dont know, the login is the same as the client's login.

Also, notice that one link in that site does work, it's the "Online Poker Forum Home" on the top left, in red. It directs to the legit FTP Forums so some people might think it validates that phishing site.

If anyone else gets a similar email, feel free to post in this thread. Please remember to keep your username and password to all of your poker sites protected.

I have no idea what it is that you're trying to say!

It seems pretty simple - someone's received a phishing email trying to get their FT login information, and they decided to warn others in case they get one.

I haven't logged on to FTP in ages, I am not even sure if I remember my password anymore.

Thanks for the alert.

Thanks for posting this, SGT RJ. I loved the Full Tilt forums, and I would hate to see any of my friends get scammed. The forums have been down since May, but I think it was possible for a while to still send private messages. I don't think that's the case now.

Never follow links sent to you in emails. Always manually enter the address in the address bar. This goes for all emails, from poker sites, banks, online merchants, etc. Scammers are very good at making phishing sites look legit.

Btw, now that FTP is sold I hope to communicate with some of my old FTP forum friends again. Maybe as soon as January. I'm giddy with excitement!
