I know right. That's me. I just tried and couldn't do it. Weird because I can do it on another AP. Which I am cashing out on today (right after I take down this $5k sniper), and moving back to Stars and FT because my self-exclusion is up.

Oh noes. That can't be good. Internal or legislature related?

Re: EChecks unavailable at pokerstars

I sent in an email asking about echeck cashouts that had already processed but had yet to hit my bank account. Heres the response:

Hello xxxxx,

Greetings from PokerStars, the World's largest pokersite!

Any current situation with our echeck processing difficulties should not
affect any processed cashouts, you should receive your funds in the
specified time frame. Your cahsout was processed on June 1st, 2009.

Thank you for your patience.

Please contact us if you have further questions or doubts, we are here to
assist you with any inquiry you might have.

Regards,

Lincoln

I don't think the past is any predictor of the future for things like this. I recall that there were long stretches in the past where only some % of Stars players had e-checks available to them, for example.

He has an email into PS but hasn't heard anything.
This stuff happens all the time, increasingly so as the UIGEA regs have been issued (and go into effect this December). Very likely unrelated IMO.

Re: EChecks unavailable at pokerstars

I love how people are so cavalier about stuff like this. Echecks down... no biggie. Biggest most reliable processor for checks down... eh, not a problem. Personal bank accounts being closed due to an association with online gaming... find another bank; there's plenty.

This is the result of the UIGEA, and compliance is not required until Dec, so it's a bit disconcerting to have problems before the deadline for compliance. In other words, it can get a lot worse, but it's probably just best to put your head in the sand and not get things moving.

Mitch, this has been happening for some time (though we have had a good run lately), and amazingly even prior to the release of the regulations. Are you proposing we go Wolverines! or something?

In fact, way way back in the day (like 01-02) I got a nice 2 minute lecture from my CC company regarding my gambling deposits (paradise). Financial services companies don't like gambling.

Of course this could be 'the beginning of the end', but there really isn't any evidence for that yet. We have all been through this before.

Well, just because compliance isnt required until December doesn't mean that some banks don't have their systems in place now.

Obviously losing what seems to be the big processor sucks, but we've gone through this three or four times and its always gotten resolved, its not like anything happened today that has never happened before and didnt get resolved. Looks like you can order checks again already at Tilt.

Its obviously not good, its can get worse, and it obviously shows why we need effective regulation to repeal the UIGEA. There's no evidence yet that this is anything but a processor death that we've seen many times before.

Re: EChecks unavailable at pokerstars

I had a paper check cashout with full tilt that was canceled and had to request a new one earlier today. Then tonight on the way home from work tonight I talked to a friend who asked why echeck deposits wouldnt work. I come home and find this thread greeeaaaat. By the way for the guy 2 posts above who said this happened last year too? Actually my first experience with this kind of stuff was the netteller collapse followed later by the echeck/papercheck debacle at Tilt and Stars. So for those of you who think we are saying the sky is falling, we are really just pissed that cashing out or depositing wont be as easy for american players. That is bad for every poker player. Bring on the change Obama, bring on the change plz.

Does it even have to be the "death" of a processor???? At this point could it be that one big Bank we all know severing the business relationship with the client/processor...The processor could have already set-up "back-up" accounts at other banks in case of this exact event...

Last year about when this happen in reading the warrants it was discovered the the processor had had there accounts shut down before by actions solely by the Bank(ie..no DOJ intervention)...

That's my whole point. Everyone is a lazyass so for some to be taking the initiative before they must, is a bit worrisome.

Yes, I realize this, and I'm not overly concerned because I know the majors will always find a quick solution, but I have a feeling it won't always be like that. Meanwhile, how's your sunburn?

True, I guess to be more precise it looks like the blowup of a processor account.
