Yeah, we could believe that, or we could, you know, look at the math.

all the power to the players that make money before the rewards program.
its the players that break even playing or lose a lot! then profit because of the rewards that have ruined the industry imo.
But thanks to pokerstars this is looking to be less of a problem in the future.

Some will play more and some will quit its not 20-30 % less profit its 20-30 pct less rakeback.
Many of their profit margins are so razor thin especially the really tight ones that these changes mean they go from making money after rb to losing it.I also doubt they all magically add more hours to their play.if they do they'll suffer from burn out quicker.people are making a lot less money than they did five years ago from poker for the most part.some add more hours to make up for some of this, some don't.

lool, only ones that are gonna reap it are stars. Seen this time and again at multiple other sites. Games DON'T improve, people saying they do are basing it on wishful thinking.

Did you even read Starvingwriter's post?

Please explain the difference in skill between these players:

Player A wins $X, pays $Y in rake and receives $Y*0.5 in rakeback. <-- low winrate, high rakeback

Player B wins $X+($Y*0.5), pays $Y*0.5 in rake and receives $0 in rakeback. <-- high winrate, no rakeback

lol, you totally saved this thread for me.

I actually did a bit of research, and found this cute little Gelding Pinto:

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

The asking price is $6,000, which is 372,000 fpps if I pay for it using the concierge service. It will take me 35.42 days to get enough fpps to pay for it. Luckily I have 110,000 fpps saved up already, so it will only take me 24.9 days.

I'll have to pay someone to import it from British Columbia, but there are enough grinders moving to Vancouver I'm sure I can get someone to help me out. However, I will be paying cash from poker profits (not rakeback!) for the associated shipping, as my birthday is in 23 days, and I don't want it to be too late or it won't feel like a gift.

Please PM me if you live in the Vancouver area and have horseback riding/farming/ranching experience. Full Tilt branded cowboy hat a plus.

If people making a living off fpp quit as a result the games will be improved bigtime imo.

People DO NOT have more time to play the extra hands they need to play is going to derail them so fast..
Ive been guilty of wishfull thinking a LONG TIME

I WISH THE GAMES WERE FAIR
I WISH THE PEOPLE PLAYING THEM WOULDNT CHEAT
I WISH THESE POKER SITES WERE LEGIT

I Just want to play on a website where everyone recieves = RB preferably 0
and incentives to play include depositing $$$$

So if I played at a site with $1 rake I'd be a great player, but because I play at a site where the rake is $3, then the site gives me $2 back, I've ruined the industry.

Got it.

Re: Poll: PokerStars 2012 VIP Changes - Keep Dealt System or Change It?

Fwiw I won't be rushing back to play at Stars in January if they do decide to go to WC.

It will be a good 6months, maybe even up to a year before we will know if the games have gotten better.

At Full Tilt the games did improve but around that time BF happened so it could be argued that less ROW regs kept money on the site for fear of what eventually happend, no American regs were playing after BF etc....

I think the games will improve. I think that those SNE type players who lost $60k a year playing poker but made $100k from SNE will either have to improve their game, or get a real job.

Re: Poll: PokerStars 2012 VIP Changes - Keep Dealt System or Change It?

Rakeback and winrate should never be combined when comparing skill levels fwiw.

I see the point you are trying to make but no good winning player who is winning at 5bb/100 will look at their winrate and add a couple of BB's on for rakeback earned and claim that their winrate is 7bb/100.
