You do realize that 60k FPPs = $960, right?

Maybe its different in the States but here its waaaay better value getting gift cards for all electronics I have ever looked up. Also if you have more points the $1000 gift card is even better value.
Or use concierge if you are Supernova or SNE. I bought a PS3 last year, mailed the bill to Stars and 2 days later i had the Fpps deducted and the money credited. These way i got better value than buying directly in the VIP store.

Yes definitely true, I've never really understood this. Maybe in europe with much higher taxes it becomes closer between the gift card and geting the item right from the store.

To be fair, you get the blu-ray player delivered and without taxes. Where I live in Canada tax is 12%, sometimes even more on some electronics (e.g. computer monitors have a "recycling fee" you also have to pay). But it still doesn't make up for the huge difference.

I've got the futureshop gift card before, it does take a long time to come because it's ordered from some 3rd party. I think mine took at least a month to arrive.

If anyone from stars is reading, I'd really prefer a gift card for other technology stores like NCIX.com or newegg.ca, which offer much better selection on things like laptops and computer monitors.

I am a supernova and use concierge, but the limitation is that it's minimum $500 US so smaller purchases like PS3 or external HD or smaller tech things don't work unless you buy them all together.

Some guys said that they are making exceptions. Surely not for 50$, but for >300$ its worth a try.

Bought two games and a second controller too, so i had > 500 $

amazon.com price on ipod touch 32gb: $260.
price in FPP store: 25,000FPP.

gold star vip cash reward: $300.
price in FPP store: 25,000FPP.

I'm confused too, I'm in the process of buying an ipod touch for the wife and my first thought was "Oh, I'll just get one from the pokerstars store." guess not.

Also, I noticed they cover "tuition" with congerie but not "loans."

what about student loans? they're not really going to punish me for playing poker after college instead of during, are they?

this may be off topic but do you guys anticipate new FPP bonuses like the instant cash credit ones they've had in the past being available in august?

No, there's just the one $6 instant cash credit in there for July as a part of Micromania, and it's understood that this size of instant cash credit won't have value or meaning to every player. There are no plans for any other instant cash credits in the VIP store in the near future.

On the other hand, the new VIP Reward Bonus for BronzeStar VIPs is permanent. So is the increased value of the SilverStar and GoldStar bonuses.

Perhaps if I was Supernova they would be, but as a mere Gold VIP, I'm clueless about how to convert 60K FPPs into $960. But then, I'm clueless about a lot of things.

it's even worse if you're supernova because 25,000FPP = ~$400 concierge. But as I said there is a certain inconvenience to concierge: minimum $500 US, submit receipts, wait for them to be processed (3+ days), cash out, wait for money to arrive, etc. Plus you pay sales tax.

The weird thing is that a few electronics are actually a reasonable deal, e.g. the digital cameras are not that far off from their list price, but the smaller things like playstation 3, ipod are just not even remotely close.

It's really variable, buyer beware on a lot of this stuff. The LG monitor is a decent value, the ipod isn't, who knows why.

Surprised this thread hasn't taken off, let's hear some reviews of the ridiculous frivolous items like the money clip and supernova polo shirt.

The VIP store has the Canon T1i for 60,000 FPPs. That's around $960. That camera was recently on clearance for $500 at Fry's.

The T2i can be bought for around $750 through various coupons etc. I'm not a Supernova but does anyone know if stars will let me use the Concierge service if I have enough FPP's? I really want to buy the T2i and send stars the receipt.

I do not expect this to happen ever, and certainly not in the forseeable future.

PLEASE something along these lines. I bought the adjustable baseball cap and the quality was EXTREMELY disappointing. I would like to be able to get a higher quality hat even if it cost more points. Can you please look into this. I am sure I am not the only one that has complained about the hat quality. I have bought hats on FTP as well and the quality is far superior. I like to wear my poker hats when I go out and as it stands right now I am only advertising FTP even though I like Stars better.

I like hats BTW.
