PokerStars statement on min/max buyin on big bet tables PokerStars statement on min/max buyin on big bet tables

02-25-2010 , 06:09 PM
Buyin amounts in big-bet hold'em and omaha cash games has been a hot topic recently both in forum threads and in emails from players. Many players have requested changes to our table minimum and/or maximum buyins while others have requested that they stay the same.

PokerStars is diligently examining all information available on this topic. This includes reviewing player emails and posts and exchanging ideas with members of the VIP Player Panel made up of respected 2+2 posters. PokerStars is also surveying casual poker players to learn their preferences. Thanks go out to all players who have offered their input.

This is an important decision and as such should not be rushed. All player perspectives must be given due consideration.

PokerStars plans to announce a decision and implement changes (if any) by mid-April, 2010.

Thank you for your patience during this process.

Thank you Steve! Glad to have a timetable now. After I qualify for nova this month (35KVPP in Jan, 6K so far this month) I'll be excited to (hopefully) return my business back to stars 100%.. or hopefully not move my roll completely to tilt. The issue needs closure, thanks!

i love that your giving them two more months of hope in their SNE chase before you crush their dreams and they have to get a job in the fast food industry. A+ imo.

Great news, looking forward to what the coming months have in store.

Hopefully, I won't be too far behind pace by Mid April. If you ban shortstackers, all of my play will move back to Stars.

Thanks for the update. I wish the time frame were a little shorter but I understand and appreciate the need to consider the perspectives of different players.

I am mostly grateful for the fact that I no longer have to check the incredible mess that is the "PokerStars: What are you doing about shortstackers?" thread in hopes of seeing an official statement there.

wow looks great

Thanks Steve, we all really appreciate the update.

Can you tell us who comprises the "VIP Player Panel," I've never heard of this before?
02-25-2010 , 07:30 PM
Glad to hear Pokerstars is seriously looking into this, but not all that thrilled that the Shortstacker friendly VIP Player Panel seems to have such a big part in the discussions.
02-25-2010 , 07:36 PM
Thank you for an official statement, it's appreciated.
