Seriously Stars, your software is great, but its the little things like this which make the actual poker playing a nightmare. FIX YOUR AUTO-FOCUSING #1 PRIORITY, POKER PLAYING #1. Other features like currency, looks, gimmicks can wait.
someone else had this problem ? if so, is it possible to solve it ?

Of course we all have this problem and I've posted about it many times. Stars could solve it but they are too busy adding Soccer avatars.

so why they are all glad as this "hjapler" software solved those issues ???

it is a huge problem which no other site has, and this is the biggest site of all, why no one talks about it ?

Re: **OFFICIAL Stars Software Improvement Thread***

What is this focus problem everyone gets on about? I just set mine to automatically bring tables needing attention to the front and set the multi-table option so when one clicks on inactive table it goes through with one click.

I never have a problem with table coming to foreground. Sometimes a table times out in background due to me "locking" another table by prolonging a decision, but isn't that to be expected?

Just curious what this problem is everyone has, since I've played 300k hands at Stars and never noticed.

Do you take notes? How have you not noticed it with 300k hands played.

The two most obvious "focus stealing" is when you are on a waiting list and you are "called" to a new table. The box pops up asking if you want the table and you have to handle that box before it will let you act on any table... thus, stealing the focus.

Other ways, such in tournaments, when you are moved to another table a box pops up telling you, you've been moved... once again until you click the "ok" box, you can't act on any other tables.

There are similar other ways that steal focus. Most of them are PS's sending you a pop up that requires your immediate attention or won't let you act on any other tables. If you've truly played 300k hands, I find it hard to believe, especially the waiting list issue, that it has never happened to you. You are in the middle of a critical point in a hand (assumes multi tabling) box pops up and says your new seat is waiting... you have to quickly click to get the seat or refuse it, then find the table where the clock may be winding down, make your decision and pray you did it in time... it's happened to all of us.

Re: **OFFICIAL Stars Software Improvement Thread***

lower levels for 8-game, like 10c/20c, please.

Also would be cool if you added more options to the advanced multi tabling options, like having a place to click once that checks sit out next hand button for all your tables.

Oh and in 8game, with the black layout you can't see some seats stack size unless you hover over it, but thats not really a big deal because if you hover over it you can see it.

also more features with the layouts, like the new black layout is cool, but you could have a couple different versions of it with a diff colored table felt, and maybe a diff design around each players image that circle thing, and a version with a couple diff colors thrown in just a little bit in some spots, just stuff like that.

Agreed. We have been asking since January.

You're not the first. I know several grinders who have moved to Full Tilt.

A small number of players are currently using a 'modeless' cashier, which can be kept open and refreshed during play. Within the next couple of days we'll open this to a lot more players - please let me know if you experience any problems with it.

I am still reading this thread avidly, even if I don't get to participate that often. I'm fully aware of the focus and pop-up issues in particular, and hope to get these resolved as quickly as I can. Also, we're in the early stages of some very exciting projects - I look forward to sharing more details in the coming months.

Best regards, and I'll see some of you in Vegas this summer!

Alex
Ok, let me get this straight. You are adding in a new "feature", that no serious player cares about or will ever use, instead of fixing huge bugs in your software that have been around and have been pointed out for over 7 months?

i doubt you control everything, Alex, so just print this post out and give it to somebody with some ****ing authority.

**** like 'right click table to show table themes' is more important than fixing the focus stealing issues ? I mean it could have been done after the first 3 times people complained but no...
Agreed.

ALSO a serious software bug.

Stars, I find it inexcusable that you have waited 7 months before even
ACKNOWLEDGING the focus stealing issues. It's a pathetic. I would put money on the fact that none of your software engineers are MTT SnG players. Your popups and focus stealing issues not only severely annoy and tilt players, but have definitely at least cost me $$$ in tournaments. Honestly, I think the reason you have done nothing to fix it, is because it affects the 180 grinders more than anyone, and you know other sites don't have those, which is completely scummy of you. I have VERY seriously considered moving to Full Tilt and grinding their 45 mans, so I don't have to deal with your ****ty bugs and I would have a better pay structure. You better believe if Full Tilt had turbo 180 mans I'd be over there in a heartbeat and would never look back. I actually know a few players who have switched to Full Tilt, because they find this whole ordeal just bad business. The customers and their needs should always come first, not the useless extra ribbons and bows you tie up your software in. You are ignoring your biggest customers, the regulars, because it is us who pays the most rake.

So, let me recap for you incompetent ***** what we need, in order of most to least:

1- Take away the goddamned "You have been moved to a new table" popup. Nobody gives two ****s, and this is the worst focus stealing issue of all of them. It wouldn't be bad if it was for being moved to Final Tables, but otherwise, nobody ****ing cares.
2- New tables stealing focus. They pop up when they open over all the tables needing action, and then they popup a second ****ing time over all those tables. It's retarded and pointless.
3- "You have Finished the tournament in XX place." Again, nobody ****ing cares. Just make it an option to turn it off and have the table auto-close.
4- Note taking. Tables still popup over a table I'm taking notes on, which makes it pretty muck ****ing impossible to ever take notes to someone who stacks tables. Just make it to where a table can't popup over a table that has the note tab clicked.

Things that would be really nice, and actually useful (as opposed to your usually stupid updates like this casheir thing). Implementing some of these might actually even help redeem yourself and show us you care:

1-Make it an option to have final tables auto switch to a unique theme. This would be soooo helpful for grinders like me who mass table MTT SnGs and stack their tables.
2-An easy chop feature. The fact that you still haven't done this absolutely blows my mind. I can't even put into words how much you have failed your MTT players in this area.
3-Giving us a few different options on alert noises? The current one that alerts you for taking to long is just really tilting and pretty stressful too.

The reason I came to this thread again today was because of how bad your software tilted me today, and I wanted to see if any progress was being made. I was not surprised at all to see it isn't, and I think that should speak very loudly to you. To be honest, these focus stealing issues are the most stressful part about my job. Not variance or suckouts, but your software bugs and your lack of motivation to fix them.

Re: **OFFICIAL Stars Software Improvement Thread***

A big thank you to Alex for letting me show my support for New Zealand while I'm playing. If you didn't give me this ability, I was leaving for FTP for sure.

I know you're reading this thread avidly so please take this post as a big thank you and major kudos to you and your software team on the sterling job you are all doing so far this year on the big issues.

This one was added sometime recently - in the lobby do "Options - Sound Settings" - you can select whatever sound for each event.
