But you're not really increasing rake, you're just letting people see more hands per hour. It's basically making multi-tabling easier. And there may be many ways to increase rake, but most would not be wanted by the players. This is.
To me, this would be bigger than synched breaks and auto add-on combined.
Edit: And saying it's not "real" poker is like saying multi-tabling isn't real poker.

I'm trying to envision a player, running around a casino, trying to play 24 tables at once. Oh, yeah... that's real poker.
This man is only 27 years old, but has been 24 tabling for two years now, see what it does to you?
And as to PS's being slower to add things (i'm not affiliated in ANY way) it's called being cautious. And if you ever have a problem with FT, good luck getting an answer from their support.

Reading between the lines.
We were afraid that it would seem gimmicky and turn off many of our regular players, and it would be difficult to implement effectively and could be seen as an embarrassing mistake.
That being said now that FTP had the balls to go ahead with this ,we will distance ourselves from it initially and hope that it fails.
However if it proves to be a success and players flock to it away from our site we will introduce a slighty different version and market as a hugely original and much better system. And by the way, those former Pokerstars execs you see walking the plank, well they're just taking an early retirement.

Re: **OFFICIAL Stars Software Improvement Thread***
I think Pokerstars is making a mistake by being skeptical of rush poker. Rush poker fixes the fundamental problem with ring games that has been inexplicably ignored up until now: ring cash games, between hudbots and shortstackers, are terrible as entertainment.
I used to be a HU NLHE semi-reg on Stars, not because I liked HU, but because HU was the only game where I could have fun playing. I'm a winning player, but I play poker mainly for fun. Now I'm spending my poker entertainment time over at Full Tilt, becaue rush poker makes ring games be fun rather than dross.
I think poker sites should more often ask themselves: "what would make this game fun for a recreational player?" All too often it seems like they're mainly concerned with making sure that grinders keep grinding.

Re: **OFFICIAL Stars Software Improvement Thread***
No offense meant, but why are all the FT players infiltrating a PS's thread and asking for a game that will obviously not be on PS's in the near future.
When FT is just a click away, go there, it's that simple... unless, which is what I suspect, people believe that overall PS is the better site and would prefer to play here. The concept of Rush Poker is purely designed for players that want, action, action and more action, no pauses inbetween, play as fast as you can. I can understand that slow games are a drag. A simpler implimentation would be for stars to just adapt to all fast games.
And, make all the games "auto post" with the option of "sit out next BB" as well as "sit out next hand". Watch how fast the action would pickup, without the constant moving to the next table. I get dizzy thinking about it. For those who want it... go for it. IMHO, it will kill itself off, or merely be a small group... once the initial "excitement" of a new game.
Everyone screamed for Badugi and Triple draw, PS gave it to them. At first, it was a booming success. Now, you're lucky if you can find two games at any level.

This. Pokerstars is a site that's better than Full Tilt in most ways, and I personally would really like them to have this game so that I could come back.

I disagree. Rush poker just makes it easier to cope with playing in a rock garden, which is what all online cash games have become. You're still playing in a rock garden in rush poker, but at least you're not wasting 75% of your time to downtime.

Re: **OFFICIAL Stars Software Improvement Thread***
In the cash lobby when you're adding yourself to a bunch of waitlists as I routinely do, when you add yourself to the list the button changes to a remove me from waitlist button.
Sometimes when you click on the next table the button doesn't change fast enough and I end up clicking "remove me from waitlist" for a table for which I am not on the waitlist. This generates an error message.
Might I suggest that instead of having two buttons doing two separate functions you have one button that does both. Either it queries the waitlist to see if you're on it and adds or removes as appropriate or it attempts the add/remove and when that fails it attempts the other.
Basically I wanna click it once and have it work no matter which button is displayed and I don't want error messages.
Also if you could put a boomswitch in the FPP store I would appreciate it.

Re: **OFFICIAL Stars Software Improvement Thread***
Work this morning was interesting, most of my work collegues are super fish players on stars, ppl that deposit $100 on a Friday night for the weekend, and have their full rolls on a table at any one time, withir they run it up to $1000 or bust it (almost always bust). The topic of conversation this morning was how to download Full Tilt to play rush poker anymore. This is bad.
The shortstacker problem has gotten much much worse, I couldnt find a playable standard table last night on nl50/100 wihout over half the table, and in some cases the full table playing min-stacks and ratholing. If a fish comes onto one of these tables and continually sees their money being ratholed away they just will stop playing.

Full tilt got it right. Shortstackers wanting to shortstack should have to choose a special table to play their game, not the people who want to fullstack.
