About 6 months ago the in-game sounds stopped working for me in the Pokerstars client.

I didn't change any settings.

The only time I hear sounds now is when I open a chest.

During the past 6 months I have downloaded the latest version of the client when prompted but this issue persists regardless.

In the Global Settings screen I have all of the sounds switched on and set to the max:



If a click on the play icons on that screen I do not hear a preview.

I have tried the Reset to Default button as well on this screen but to no avail.

Can you give me any advice on what might have gone wrong here and how I might remedy it?

Maybe the sounds are disabled from your windows.You might check that aswell,too

I must admit that I scoffed when I saw this response. "I mean of course I checked this and besides I can hear the chest opening noises so that can't be it".

......but I checked anyway just to be 100% and yes, in the sound mixer the PS client was muted. Kicking myself. No idea how the chest noises were being generated either - unless the client is somehow tapping into windows sounds for those.
