BTW, I suggested this idea ages ago in response to one of your surveys, and I am glad you have adopted the idea. I hereby claim my one hundred pounds reward money

please do this. And do this with every change and everything. Not even an email, you have a news popup constantly as well, put it there.

I mean it amazes me how many not even dumb people are totally clueless to what is going on stars. Your VIP program is tough to figure out, your game changes, rake changes, everything is never known.

I talk to maybe hundred poker players regularly, and I would say 10% of them know wtf is going on at any given time. And these are supernovas etc. Most just do not, and have given up trying. And resent stars for it.

Agree it's just terrible marketing starting that phrase with "We are reducing the size of the bonuses in the VIP store".

Cute how you're calling me a retard by the way even tho you're the one missing the point.
The old bonuses were :

bronze 25 $ for 2500 fpp (0,01)
silver 50 $ for 4500 fpp (0,011)

They just reduced the amount of fpp required to get a bonus at your level while keeping the same rate.

So there's no 0.016$/FPP for Supernova players any more? What about the 4k$ bonus?

There is. $1600 bonus is for Supernova too.
It's just a typo in Lee's post. Read first 10 posts in this thread and you'll have your answer

4k$ will be gone tomorrow.

I take complete and full responsibility for that. And it would have been worse if Josem hadn't told me to fix the heading on the section. It was certainly not my finest writing hour.

The tournament-meisters tell me that they're ramping up WSOP qualifiers next week. They were just concentrating on SCOOP while it was going on. With SCOOP (a record-setting one, BTW) in the books, they're turning their full "event" attention to WSOP.

Won't happen. There are too many of us at PokerStars who remember the Moneymaker/Raymer parlay and what it did for our business. That and we all just love having horses in the race.

Re: PokerStars Roundtable 2012-05-30

Just a thought on trying to entice inactive players to come back -- Instant Cash* Birthday Bonus with accompanying email.

I have no idea what would be optimal numbers here since it would be straight out of Stars pocket, and I know you guys don't like to single out specific niches of players so it would have to be for everyone. But maybe structure it something like this so it's still relevant to the specific players you'd ideally like to target (inactive recreationals) yet fair to the pool as a whole:
  • VPPs earned 1 year prior to the last VPP earned * 0.2% rounded to the nearest $5.
  • Minimum 2.5k VPPs for $5 | Maximum 25k+ VPPs for $50.
  • * Some nominal cashout clearance rate like 3x VPPs that will recoup some % of the costs.
  • This would add an extra 1.1% rakeback on past rake paid to all players that fall between the requirements and less for those that exceed the max.
  • It excludes the very low volume inactive players.
  • Ideally this would attract some of the more moderate volume casual players back to the site.
  • I don't understand all the marketing behind it but there must be some good emotional based PR effect that goes on for people's birthdays considering how many free and 2-for-1-purchase emails I get that day from all sorts of businesses.

Re: PokerStars Roundtable 2012-05-30

I like the birthday $$ bonus idea. I mean, Party et. al. have done the "please come back" bonus to selected players for a long time, but tying it in with something personal could have a better effect/help strengthen a connection with the Stars brand.

And will we be able to buy into the WSOP Main Event with FPP this year? (i.e. get 85% before the Event, the other 15% after we show proof that we played, etc.)
