Sorry to here about your experience. I am sure it was the exception to the rule. You might want to think about changing your 2+2 name or it might be a constant reminder!
As for programmes. Are you set on staying on Merge?
If so we can recomment Carbon/Black Chip and RPM. All three have exceptional affiliate managers who respond quickly. We've never had cause to moan about any of them. If it's other networks you are after let us know.
