That graph is great, with the traffic for all games - neat to be able to compare days of the week with previous weeks, and see how big tournaments are on weekends.

Am not finding it so easy to move from cash games to tourneys, and then from tourneys back to cash games. Would have liked to have been able to stick with cash and not have to do anything else, but it looks like they took away one of the 10nl zoom tables, and the one that's left is filled with regs. So, guess may have to try and get more used to tourneys again if that's the only promo this month? Guess 'another site' is an option as well ...


Or sticking to taking a break Some flowers from the garden - it's been so cold, only a couple of have opened up so far ...

What is the revised date? Why does this have to be in chronological order?

The times at the bottom of the 1st & 3rd graphs are from different zones even though they're both 24 hr graphs. The top graph could be BST if you added 12 hrs - it certainly doesn't correspond to 'civilised' Russian time - more far out to the East on the Bering Sea, must be a mistake. The 3rd graph corresponds to Moscow time

The peak traffic time at PokerStars is the same every day of the week. In the summer it's 12:00 PDT, 15:00 ET, 17:00 BRT, 20:00 BST, 21:00 CET, 22:00 MSK [Moscow]

75% or better of peak traffic is within the times 2hrs each side of the peak time i.e. for UK it's approx from 6pm to 10pm. But to catch peak "fun players" I aim for 8pm to midnight BST to maximise bumping into the Brazilians [BRT] who are either very good or very, very bad [but mainly just bad].

I expect we'll see the omaha cardhunt promotion next, as that was hinted at earlier to "look out for". Probably will show up in the next couple of days.

I like the switch to different game formats for variety (Omaha in this case) however what I don't like is the repetition of the same type of promo. The Cardhunt has already been run for an extensive period of time (over 5 weeks) and now instead of offering a new idea for a promo they just repeat the same idea in a different game format. It just gets a bit dull and repetitive - what we need is change to spice things up.

Wasn't too excited for the Omaha promo (still working on NL, and that's only got 2 cards! ), but was just watching a little bit of TalonChick's stream, and she made it seem like it *might* be fun to try for a week or two if there's promo bonuses available? maybe??

last 6month they dropped pretty heavy. Havent played on Stars for about 1 1/2years. Is this because of vip changes?

** SEASONAL: Most of the drop is due to northern hemisphere summer = less online poker traffic

** RAKE INCREASES: Perhaps this has an effect - I don't know how many net-depositing players notice such things so I'm unsure

** VIP RAKEBACK REDUCTION: Perhaps this has an effect, but in which direction? There are arguments that reduction of 'rewards' to regs might increase numbers of net depositors & repeat net depositors [because 'winning regs' are incentivised less to play supposedly], but I don't have figures. Nobody outside PS has the necessary data to ascertain how all the factors involved interact.

** CURRENT PS PROMOTIONS: Some of the drop over the past week is due to PS SCOOP which drives traffic to tournaments

** CANNIBALISED BY FAST LOTTERY TOURNAMENTS: Some of the drop is due to Spin'n'Go which have been an enormous success

** POKER BOOM IS OVER 1: Adding together all the sites there's a general decline in total online poker traffic year-on-year for many reasons such as the strong dollar, much wider choice today of online activities in eSports, eGaming etc

** POKER BOOM IS OVER 2: General level of poker skill is much higher, much smaller chance of being a winner & no chance if one doesn't keep up & study
