When can we expect at least some promotions on this arrogant site?

What kind of promotions do you want from them? Let me tell you a story about how pokerstars use their players nowadays.

On the portuguese client things are getting really calm because the market is very small and the initial boom has been gone so they came with this promotion. From 18-19 and 22-23 PM they are offering up to 50% more VPP's on zoom cash to entice people to play.

I think the promotion run for a couple of days until today I think. Well nice, you would thought.

Every single day on 10NL the bonus was only a miserable 10%. Every single day. Not 1 day they put it at more than that. You only now when you click on the smile next to the table.

People are getting cheated from a marketing campaign that promises up to 50%. They carefully pic the words. At first glance people think: nice... 50% but then you realize (and a lot just never realized) that it was UP TO 50% and it never got out of 10%.

This goes to show how is the PS communication nowadays and how good are their promotions.

It was 10% at NL10, 25% at NL25 and 50% at NL50 for the length of the promo. Do you think that the promo messaging was unclear?

So anybody here tried the new "Power Up" format yet? I'm so far loving it.. there's definitely some skill involved, something different though I have never played Hearthstone or similar type of games but yeah something cool about it. Kudos to this innovation and I hope this becomes big.

And yeah MicroMillions is back this month with more events than ever (I guess 126) and I guess we're gonna be seeing some kind of Team Kevin Hart vs Team Usain Bolt promo this month. Saw the video of this promo on Unilad page.

And I would like to request all the enthusiastic members who used to be active in this thread (especially TrustySam) to join PokerStars Discord server if you aren't already there. Most of the Stars staff members are active there, lots of stuffs to discuss about.. MicroMillions was revealed there well in advance. Must say, your post makes poker sound exciting again Will have to remember to keep an eye out for the Kevin Hart and Usain Bolt promo - and guess the Micro Millions is always quite good fun.

The Power Up game reminded me a lot of Spins - how has everybody else been finding them? Would probably not have much to add on discord, since this year have mostly just been grinding The Deal and not much else Some nice ROI to be had!

I've got a 3.2% ROI in 40 games (lol at the sample size, but they do take 10 minutes on average and I can't grind more than 2 tables yet), which is probably an underestimate as there were some rare bad beats in that sample (I mean board runouts unaffected by any power after everyone went all-in or folded, not runouts affected by Engineer or Scanner).

Yep, many people have already reported on chest opening in the NVG thread.

Hardly play any more unless there's a promo - so probably won't be unlocking my first chest until the end of the month when the Micro Millions starts!

I just got 1k from a chest.... it was like my 6th chest i opened. I usually only play 1-2 NL50 games at a time.

At first i thought it was a ticket and i'd need to collect like 100 tickets or something but it instantly redeemed for 1k! Gotta admit i'm pretty stoked as thats months of grinding on the old system.. but i'm sure its super rare.

I am a rec (mostly play on mobile, $0.01/0.02 nl Zoom or $0.25 Spins ) and my 240 points (aka $2.40 in rake) rewarded with... $0.09 cents (oops I mean 9 StarsCoins). And 25 progress towards the next 240-chest.

Color me not impressed. Pretty animation and sound effects though. But then again I didn't ask for a slot machine experience in place of reasonable rakeback... sigh

OK, the whole series is in the lobby now.

There are no complete innovations but the amount of 3-max events is pleasantly surprising. The 3-max total KO shootout and 3-max Win The Button are quite unique.

Out of that October 2016 post, only Beat The Clock has appeared for real money so far, but thanks to MicroMillions, it looks like now we've finally got an idea of what the other 3 will look like.

Disclaimer: I'm have no access Stars' confidential info and I have no bugs in their office, this is just my prediction based on the scarce public info.

All In

Its preview is in the play money MTT lobby - the 1M Friday Frenzy and the 10M Friday Freakout (thanks to 7deuc3 for spotting them).

The small blind is 1 chip, the big blind is essentially infinite. It means that, in every hand, the BB is auto-all-in, and the only decision for the others is whether to call all-in or fold. There's essentially no blind growth because the BB is infinite for practical purposes, so you might wonder how fast the structure is. Well, such a tournament takes very little time to finish - last Friday's 1M was over after 19 minutes with 84 entries - that's much faster than usual hypers and even faster than 36-man super-KOs with their crazy blind growth.

So far, these all-ins are scheduled re-entry MTTs, but I also expect a re-entry, on-demand (presumably), full ring version in the SNG lobby.

Duel Arena

This will be like MicroMillions Event #115 - HU Zoom total progressive KO, re-entry. The SNG version will presumably be on-demand starting when 8 players register. Non-Zoom dealing starts when the tourney is down to 4 players.

As in all total KOs, the entire BI goes to the bounty on the player's head, and as in all PKOs, one earns in fact half the opponent's bounty after knocking him/her out, while the other half is added to the eliminator's own bounty, though the new PKO display format shows only the half of the opponent's bounty that's up for grabs, not their entire bounty.

The winner will usually walk away with a heavy prize (incl. the entire accumulated bounty on their own head), so expect immense variance.

Spin & KO

I believe this format is going to be showcased by MicroMillions Event #31.

I think Spin & KO will be a 3-man SNG (in a blind lobby just like usual Spin & Gos). The bounty size will be unknown until a knockout happens. At that point, the one who has knocked an opponent out in 3rd will spin to determine the bounty amount that s/he will get immediately. Plus, thrice (or a fixed number of times) this amount will be posted as the 1st place prize to play for in the HU phase.

For example, in a $1 Spin & KO, the one who knocks an opponent out in 3rd will receive at least $0.50 and up to, say, $2500 (the top multiplier). Then the two remaining players will battle out for a prize ranging from $1.50 to $7500 depending on what the eliminator has spun.

I find Duel Arena (if it's released the way I've predicted) the most challenging and interesting of the three, I'm looking forward to crushing it If Duel Arena is different from what I'm expecting, I'll crush All In or Fold instead. Spin & KO, the way I'm foreseeing it, looks almost like a traditional Spin & Go and thus a bit too unexciting to me, but I hope I'm mistaken and Stars' design of this format is craftier than what I could think of.

Thinking more about it, I guess I know what kind of a better design Stars has in mind, or at least, the following is what I'd like to see.

The fact that MM Event #31 is a shootout does hint that Spin & KOs may also be shootouts, and Stars definitely has enough traffic to afford a 9-man (3-max 2-round) shootout at higher stakes and even a 27-man (3-round) shootout at the micros.

In that case, a Spin & KO tourney will be simply a total KO shootout, with the only exception that, upon any knockout, instead of getting a deterministic prize, the eliminator will spin and randomly determine the multiplier affecting the bounty amount, then half the multiplied bounty amount will be credited into the eliminator's Stars account, and the other half will be added to the bounty on the eliminator's own head. (The winner of the HU phase of a round will spin a multiplier twice - both for the runner-up's bounty and then for his/her own.)

This way, the bounty amounts on the final tablers' heads will often vary, which will result in more interesting dynamics at the final table as opposed to the first round or an STT, especially when one of the finalists gets a huge multiplier on his/her head and becomes the one hunted for by the other two

It's amazing how flexible and fruitful the total KO framework is. I had a similar idea of spin shootouts in my mind, but I couldn't make it work well (thinking that only the stack sizes could be multiplied) because I failed to realise that it was possible to make the shootout a total KO.

Guess most of us will have the second experience, similar to WSP - but that's pretty exciting for the couple of casual players who'll have the first ...

Probably wouldn't have bothered to check out the promo page for the Micro Millions, and would have wound up missing the special ticket giveaway - will that be 4 free $0.65 Spin and Go tickets we'll all get? That's a pretty nice promo - will probably wind up taking me a good half a year to make that much from chests, so that's pretty sweet

Will have to look over the schedule more closely tonight to see what MM tourneys to maybe give a try this time around - may give the half-price Sunday Storm a try? Guess it's not often a $5.50 tourney will have a $300k guarantee
